ANTM: Tyler Perry’s House of Cray-Cray

Last time on “ANTM:” It was time for makeovers! Except they were optional! But they really weren’t because opting out meant a talking to from Tyra and Kelly. Victoria began to panic but Maria didn’t care. She finally left the competition during the photo shoot. No one cared as they were posing nude with one Rob Evans. At panel, Victoria rose to the top while Darian and Yvonne fell to the bottom. It came down to social media and Darian was sent home, but no before Tyra teased her with the possibility of coming back. Ten girls remain, who will go home tonight? Find out!

Wanna be on top?

LA! Victoria comes home to see her photo displayed in the house. She thanks all the fans who voted for her and mention she’s Jewish and Native American. And talks about her mom before saying she won’t be taking anyone else with her to the Tyra Suite. Kiara says Victoria doesn’t have those social skills because she was homeschooled. You know, homeschooled children have social skills. Their parents usually sign them up for things like sports and scouting for that. Anyway, Yvonne is grateful for her second chance.

The other girls talk about the fact that an eliminated contestant can come back based on social media votes. Someone suggests Kristin would be a shoe-in if she was eliminated. And she knows it’s possible because the judges think she relies on pretty and isn’t a model. Kiara thinks Kristin is pretty but nasty. Proven by the fact that she goes into Destiny’s purse for a lighter without asking. They curse each other out. I love Destiny is wearing a DARE shirt and has a lighter. Kristin tries to get Destiny to hit her, which means automatic dismissal from the competition. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not enter the comeback competition and go straight to wherever they are keeping Maria.

CREDITS!

We come back as Kristin begs to be hit. Kiara steps between the two as Destiny says she won’t hit her. Nastasia is surprised that Destiny is fighting back because she’s supposed to be a tough chick. But even Destiny says it’s pretty much a cover because of her life and she’s really sensitive. Either way, Kristin is coming off horrible this way.

The next day, the girls go to meet Tyra. It’s time for the acting teach! Is it sad there is more acting on this show than The Glee Project? Anyway, Tyra introduces Tyler Perry. An actor, director and handsome. He knows about creating characters. There are flags with four different characters. Tourist, rapper, street performer, and diva. Tyler will be judges them and uses the Madea voice, which sends them crazy. The winner will get a walk on role in one of his movies.

The girls hit hair and makeup as well as wardrobe. Kiara is a Hollywood diva. She knows she has to bring it. Nastasia and Destiny are tourists while Yvonne is a rapper (“Chocolate Stain”). Tyler talks about committing to their character, like he commits to playing Madea. Destiny steps out and says she wants the scholarship money. Tyler tells her to think Usher is behind her and she harasses some poor guy. He gives Destiny a 6.
Victoria says she’s a delusional diva who wants to help people. Kiara is like “Hollywood diva? You don’t feed the world or help the poor.” Every heard of Angelina Jolie, Kiara? Anyway, Victoria steps out into the street complete with this posh accent. She announces she’s very private and tells people not to take her picture. As a philanthropist, she chases after some guy to offer chicken but Tyler and Tyra order her to get away as Victoria says it got weird.

COMMERCIALS!

We come back with Victoria’s crazy persona. The guy throws the chicken at her but she brushes it off. Tyra dismisses her and Tyler gives her an 8. Kiara comes out to be the diva. She says she plays basketball and never acted, but she can be a diva. Kiara goes up to ask a girl not to talk to TMZ. She asks that no one take pictures, not to call US Weekly. Tyra tells her to walk like she was on the runway. Kristin then tries to rap while Leila didn’t do well. Laura goes out as a free spirit performance artist with a Caribbean accent. She gets a baby to clap. “Chocolate Stain” comes out to rap. She’s actually pretty good at rapping. Tyler loves Yvonne’s performance and commitment.

Tyler praises Kiara, Victoria, and Yvonne. Tyra says it was difficult but the winner…Kiara. Really? I thought Yvonne did better. And even Yvonne knows she should have won. Tyra tells them to check their individual scores. Nastasia was on the bottom with 5 but Destiny isn’t too happy with her score of 6. She talks to Brittany and then tells us she has to step up her game.

COMMERCIALS!

Back in the house, Yvonne calls her boyfriend for some encouragement. He asks if he saw her pictures and we cut back to when Yvonne didn’t like her butt. She talks about how insecure she is about her body size.
Next, the model mobile takes them to Universal Studio to the set of War of the Worlds. Laura says she feels like a top model. Johnny welcomes them and introduces Ricky Middlesworth, their photographer. Today, they are going to be zombies. Johnny tells them to remember to be fierce and beautiful.

Victoria has apparently done some independent film work which she talks about as she goes through the makeup. She shoots first and Johnny wanted diversity. Nastasia comes out and the director calls her “posey.” They try to get her on her toes. Johnny tries to give her more height. Laura rocks her shoot. Allyssa is told to go intense, not sexy. Johnny worries she may be one note.

Bryanboy talks to the girl as Kristin comes out. And then is a bitch to Johnny, saying she can’t show emotion. Well, through her eyes but she can’t laugh at his lame jokes. Kristin gets frustrated and Johnny tells her to change things up. The censor is really getting paid this episode. And I can’t believe I’m about to agree with Kiara,  but Kristin is a spoiled brat.

COMMERCIALS!

We come back for Destiny saying she’s getting lightheaded. Brittany goes for her shoot. And she rocks it. I think Brittany is one of my favorites—maybe my favorite. Kiara comes out and says she needs a good shot because social media doesn’t like her. She should be grateful they aren’t watching her on the show. It’s so-so. Yvonne comes out and hopes to get a good shot. Johnny tells her to change it up and Laura doesn’t think she embraced her curves. Johnny doesn’t think she’s working the body. Leila comes out to rock her shoot. And now Destiny, who lies down but says she forgot how to pose. Is that why she said she was getting lightheaded? Johnny goes to talk to her and asks for intensity. Brittany doesn’t think Destiny is using her full potential.

That’s a wrap! And pirate!mail. Victoria starts reading but apparently it was Kristin’s turn. Yvonne says panel is scary. Kristin says she hated the shoot while Brittany and Destiny talk about how Kristin didn’t do well and how worried Destiny is.

COMMERCIALS!

Tyra welcomes the girls to panel. There are judges—Kelly Cutrone, Rob Evans and Bryanboy. There are prizes. There is an explanation of the scoring system. Leila is first. Kelly likes the shot as does Rob. Tyra calls it stunning and how well she meshed being a zombie and a model. Social media liked her. Kelly gives her a 7, Rob and Tyra 9’s. Rob thinks Kiara was more on a video shoot. She says she thought it when dressed, which Tyra calls an excuse. Kiara gets 6’s across the board. Rob likes Brittany’s shot as does Tyra and Kelly. But Tyra would’ve liked to see the “bad side” more in the photo. There is a fan video before scores: Kelly and Tyra 8’s, Rob a 9. Victoria follows. Kelly thinks she looks more angelic. Rob thinks she’s trying to catch a cab. Tyra doesn’t think she lost herself. She gets 6’s across the board.

Destiny is next. Rob thinks she’s dying, not already dead. Kelly is concerned. Tyra talks about working her face. Kelly gives her a 5 as does Tyra while Rob gives her a 6. Rob likes how Laura used her dress. Kelly and Tyra like it though Tyra notes she lost her neck. Laura gets 9’s across the board. Kristin is next. Rob talks about how she is hiding the dress and calls her “too pretty.” Tyra says she is not a model and one of Kristin’s fans says she was just there. Rob gives her a 6, Kelly a 4 and Tyra a 7. Kristin asks how not to be pretty and Tyra gives a teach.

Allyssa follows and gets so-so comments from the judges. “Mary Poppins after a car accident,” Tyra dubs it. Tyra gives her an 8 while the others give 7’s. Tyra likes Nastasia’s subtle poses. They still think Nastasia is short and measure her against Tyra. Kelly gives her a 6, Rob gives her a 7 and Tyra gives a 9. Kelly sings her comments about Yvonne. Tyra tells her to mesh her model and character actor traits. Bryanboy says social media isn’t pleased with Yvonne. Rob and Kelly give her 5’s and Tyra gives her a 6.

COMMERCIALS!

ELIMINATION! The girl who gets the Tyra Suite and best photo is…Laura. She is joined by Leila, Brittany, Allyssa, Kiara, Nastasia, Victoria and Kristin. That leaves Yvonne and Destiny in the bottom two. Yvonne: Stunning, has girls rooting for her, judges feel she is failing in pictures. Destiny: Good in person, bad in pictures. Who stays? Yvonne. Figured—she had a high challenge school. Yvonne hugs Destiny and takes her picture.

Tyra hugs Destiny and tells her to practice. She calls her “Bambi” and she should show the fans she deserves to come back. After another hug, Destiny goes to say goodbye. She says she has to step up her game and get better photos.

Two weeks in a row for Yvonne. If she’s not careful, she’ll go next week. I liked this week’s challenge though I’m sad we didn’t get to see everyone perform. How do we then know Kiara was the best? Especially after I thought Yvonne did a better job? The shoot wasn’t too bad either. I’m not sure how I feel about Destiny’s leaving. It’s how I feel about this entire cycle so far: meh.

Next week: Cheerleading! Alicia Keys! Runway!

Quote of the Episode
“I was hoping P. Diddy would’ve walked out. But he didn’t.”—Allyssa on Kiara’s shoot.
(But “Mary Poppins after a car accident” was a close second).
