OUAT: What a Tangled Web

Get the pun? If not, hopefully you will by the end of the recap.

Last time on “Once:” Alice believed she had found a cure for the curse that separated her from her father—Wish!Hook. However, it didn’t and Hook ended up injured. She ran away to Wonderland, pursued by Ella and Henry. Henry realized Ella was familiar with Wonderland and she revealed that her mother ran away to Wonderland, abandoning her father. Ella hoped to find her mother and get answers, entering the infinite maze to do so.

Ella found Alice as well as her mother’s locket. Alice knew Ella’s mother, Cecilia, and revealed that her mother ran away to Wonderland because she was poisoned the same way Wish!Hook was. She had to stay away from the people she loved and was looking for a cure. Unfortunately, she was killed when the Jabberwocky attacked. Ella thanked her for telling her that and seemed to make peace with the fact that her mother hadn’t just abandoned them for no reason.

Alice revealed a pretty sorceress tricked her into thinking she was cured and Ella realized it was Drizella. Meanwhile, Drizella tried to poison Henry’s heart with the same curse but Ella got there just in time to save him thanks to her Magical Lockets of True Love. She finally gave into her feelings for Henry and they shared a Big Damn Kiss, complete with 360 camera work.

They returned to camp to assure Wish!Hook that Alice was fine and that she hoped they would be reunited one day. Regina noticed they were holding hands and wished them the best. Tiana then revealed that someone claiming to be friends with Henry showed up. He introduced the man as Jack, one of his first friends in the Enchanted Forest, and Jack joined the rebellion.

Meanwhile, Hyperion Heights reeled over Victoria’s arrest. Henry recorded some footage of Drizella for his podcast and she asked if he would want to make videos with Belfrey Industries’ backing. Regina stepped in and warned Drizella away from her son but Drizella was feeling pretty in control, revealing that Eloise Gardiner was Mother Gothel. Regina certainly knew who she was and how dangerous she was.

Gothel, meanwhile, checked in with Officer Rogers and brought him a cake. Regina later threw it out when she found out Gothel made it and she encouraged Rogers to give Tilly a second chance. It certainly gave Rogers something to think about it and he later made a standing appointment with Tilly to play chess with her each week.

Lucy was put into a foster home and Sabine convinced Jacinda to enlist the help of Lucy’s bio-dad (at least according to the curse)—Nick, who is just a cursed Jack. He has become a lawyer and he agreed to help her get their daughter back, though he was probably also flirting with her—even taking her to a fancy restaurant. He met Henry and the two bonded immediately, though it was dampened on Henry’s side when he learned who Nick was. But he had to admit he was a good man and tried to get Lucy to bond with her father. She was having none of it, convinced Nick was the “Kathryn.”

Meanwhile, Regina met with Rumple and told him that she was awake. She told him that Gothel was around and that they both knew they couldn’t let her continue to be free. Rumple, though, played dumb and pretended he wasn’t awake. So Regina said she would get help from somewhere else.

Henry continued to work on the food truck but when he saw Jacinda and Nick coming back from a date, he left after giving her the keys. She chased after him and explained that she felt something for him but she needed to focus on Lucy. She confessed that she didn’t lose Lucy—she signed her parental rights over to Victoria, believing it was for the best. Now she was scared that Lucy will hate her for it. Henry reassured her that it wouldn’t happen and encouraged her to tell that to Nick so he could help her. He then said that maybe it wasn’t a good time for them to start anything and they parted ways.

He then went and drank his feelings, horrifying Regina when she found him at her bar. It only grew as he railed against love, especially since it wasn’t going to work out with Jacinda. She took the bottles from him and said that she needed to go to San Francisco to enlist the help of someone who hates Victoria Belfrey…but hates her more. She invited Henry to come along with her to get a change of scenery and he agreed, saying he had the perfect playlist for their car ride.

Jacinda and Nick got Lucy returned to her custody and Lucy happily returned home to her mother. Jacinda apologized for giving her up but promised that she would always fight for her going forward. Lucy forgave her and told her she believed in her. Jacinda then introduced Lucy formally to Nick, though she wasn’t too thrilled about that. After, Jacinda went to Roni’s to give Henry a mix tape but was told he went to San Francisco with Roni. She left, disappointed.

Drizella and Gothel continued to work together. Gothel asked Drizella to find Anastasia’s body so they could get to her magic. Drizella finally found her in one of Victoria’s other properties but when they opened the coffin, it was empty and so their search continued.

We open in the middle of a storm as a team of horses race through the night, leading a carriage. A clocked figure guides them as two small children rest in the back, caring for a sick man. The carriage comes to a stop by a gate and the man asks the driver why they have stopped, addressing the person as “Rapunzel.” We see Rapunzel in the front seat—and this time it is her, the woman whose appearance Mother Gothel stole in order to seduce Wish!Hook. She explains that she found some food for them and he apologizes that she must care for them. Rapunzel assures him—Marcus—that things will get better and all the dreams they have for their family will come true. She then tells her daughters to stay with their father and assures them that the lanterns will connect them—they will see hers and she’ll see theirs. She promises that family always finds a way to stay together before heading into the garden beyond the gate.

(It's Rapunzel--the real one!)

Rapunzel gathers some vegetables from the garden but is quickly caught by Gothel, who uses magic to take the bag. Startled, Rapunzel apologizes for stealing but says she needs to take care of her family—her husband is sick and their children haven’t eaten in a couple days. Gothel says that people usually come to steal her magic not her radishes, so she is intrigued by Rapunzel. Rapunzel offers to work to pay for the vegetables but she needs to take care of her family. Gothel asks her what she’s willing to do to ensure her family’s happiness. Rapunzel immediately replies anything and Gothel tells her she can work with anything.

Mother Gothel pours some dust from a container in her hand. She then blows it at Rapunzel. Winds whip up around her and vines spring up from the ground, wrapping around her and holding her in place. She is then transported from the garden to a set of rooms. Confused, she runs to the window and throws it open to discover she’s in a tower. Gothel tells her that there’s no way to escape and Rapunzel says she didn’t agree to this. Gothel says she did—Rapunzel agreed to do anything for her family’s happiness. She points out that there’s a distinction between their happiness and Rapunzel’s. Rapunzel says that her family will look for her and Gothel says they’ll never find her. Upset, Rapunzel runs back to the window and calls out for her family—Marcus, Anastasia and Drizella.

(No one can hear you scream)
Victoria sits in an interrogation room in an orange jumpsuit as Drizella is escorted in. Drizella tells her that orange looks better on the women in the show on Netflix and Victoria tells her that her wardrobe reminds her of her daughter—it’s a disappointment forced upon her. She asks Drizella why she’s there and Drizella says that Victoria has something she wants. Victoria says she’s not getting Anastasia because she just wants her sister’s magic and then she’s probably kill her (not stated but strongly hinted at). Drizella says she learned how to negotiate from her mother and reminds Victoria that she controls all of her assets. If Victoria wants to get out of prison, she needs to make a deal with Drizella. Victoria refuses and Drizella says she’ll find Anastasia on her own with Gothel’s help.
Victoria says that Drizella always gravitated toward any mother figure and Drizella shoots back the Victoria only ever wanted the love of one daughter. Victoria taunts her by asking if she didn’t get enough hugs. Drizella ends the conversation, heading out. Before she leaves, Victoria says that she’s been locked up before and that she always finds a way to protect her family.

(She's making Cora look like Mother of the Year material)
Lucy tells her mother that she’s glad to be home and Jacinda agrees. She then tells Lucy to get ready for school and reminds her that she has ballet afterwards. Lucy asks if they could invite Henry over to tell him the good news. Jacinda hesitates and tells her daughter that they should get through their first day together and then they can talk about it. That satisfies Lucy, who heads to her room. Sabine says that Lucy is not going to give up trying to pair Jacinda and Henry. She asks Jacinda if there will be any sparks between her and Henry, especially with a mix tape in the, well, mix. Jacinda says that she went to Roni’s to give the tape to Henry but was told he went with Roni to San Francisco for some reason. So she’s not sure what’s going on. Lucy then comes out and they head out to school.

(Jacinda can't believe how complicated her love life has become)
Rumple visits Victoria in prison, telling her its time for her to go back. Victoria tells him that she’s missed their talks and he asks how she enjoyed the one with her daughter. She says she hasn’t liked talking with Drizella since she was four. She then asks Rumple to help her with her daughter—Anastasia. He isn’t inclined to help her and she says that he has to be nervous about Gothel being free. Rumple pretends not to know what she was talking about but she lists a few things about him, getting a response from him when she mentions his dagger. He orders her to stand and she does, asking him about his quest for the Guardian. She says she has information that could help him and she will give it to him if he can get her out. She asks if they have a deal and he puts his cuff away as he tells her that they do. He then calls her Rapunzel and they share a look which I think is meant to be confirmation that he is awake and knows who she is.

I think.

(Is he giving her a knowing look or trying to come on to her?)
Rapunzel marks all the days she spends in the tower but she then throws her pen into the fire. She sits down to watch it burn when something catches her attention. Going to the window, she sees hundreds of lanterns floating in the air and it gives her hope. She looks down at the ground below before turning around to study the miles of braided hair she now owns. Rapunzel grabs her bag, cuts her hair and uses the braid as a rope. As she climbs out of the window, she reminds herself to be brave for her family and then starts to rappel down the tower.

(That's a lot of hair)
Rogers arrives at the precinct and is shocked to see Victoria walk out in regular clothes. He asks her what she’s doing there and she replies that she worked hard and seized her opportunities rather than being waited for them to be handed to her. He thanks her for the TED talk before asking what she’s doing out of jail. Rumple leaves and says that it’s Rogers fault since he didn’t have a warrant. Rogers points out that there were exigent circumstances and he had reasons to believe someone was in danger. Rumple says the judge didn’t see that way but Rogers knows that Rumple made the judge see it that way. He tells Rumple that he can either tell Rogers what Victoria has on him or he will find out on his own. Rumple doesn’t back down and Rogers storms into the precinct.

(Rogers is not pleased)
Rumple gets in the car and tells Victoria that since she’s free, she can go find Anastasia. She says that she first needs to get everything she needs to wake her daughter up so they are going to have to make some stops first. Rumple becomes her reluctant chauffeur.

Victoria’s first stop is to Jacinda’s apartment. Sabine is surprised to see her and tells her friend that there’s a fugitive at the door. Victoria tells them that she’s a free woman and that the truth will come out about who the real villain is in good time. Jacinda asks if she’s there to get Lucy back but Victoria says she’s there to officially rescind all her claims to custody of Lucy. She explains that when she first gave Jacinda the papers, she had expected her to tear them up or throw them back in her face. Instead, she signed them and that told Victoria exactly what kind of person she was. Jacinda realizes it was a test and Victoria tells her she failed. But she’s passed now. Victoria is glad that she reached out to Nick, Lucy’s dad, and brought him back into her life and that she got custody of Lucy the right way. She tells Jacinda to have Nick look everything over but she’ll find it’s all in order.

Jacinda looks it over and Sabine asks Victoria if there’s a catch. Victoria insists there isn’t. She says that while she was locked up, she took stock of what was important in her life and decided it was Lucy’s happiness. While Sabine and Jacinda share a look that says they don’t believe her, Victoria says that she’s proud of how Jacinda has fought for her daughter and has proven herself worthy to raise Lucy. She then hands Jacinda a doll she says is one of Lucy’s favorites and Jacinda doesn’t know what to say to her. Victoria tells her that family is important and will always find a way.

(They're skeptical)
While I think Victoria thinks Jacinda failed her test, I don’t think she did. Jacinda did what she thought was best for her daughter. She loved her so much, she gave her up so she could have her best chance. Victoria, though, I think has a skewed view of that because she fought so hard to get back to her family and so can’t imagine how giving them up is for the best. Especially after what she experienced after she was forced away from hers.

A teen girl sends lanterns into the night air as a younger girl approaches her. She calls her Anastasia, so we know she is Drizella. She says that tea is served in the parlor and Anastasia promises to be right in. Drizella tells her that it’s been six years and that their mother isn’t coming back but Anastasia holds out hope. Rapunzel emerges from the woods and the girls are surprised. Anastasia races forward to hug her while Drizella hangs back, uncertain. Rapunzel tells her daughters that she followed their lanterns home, knowing they were from them. Marcus leaves the house and is stunned to see her alive and well. He tells her that they searched for her but only found her cloak. She tells him about her deal with Mother Gothel and being trapped. Rapunzel tells him that she’s escaped and they can be together again, but Marcus hesitates.

Another young girl then calls him father as she comes outside. Marcus tells her to go back inside before calling her “Ella.” Rapunzel is confused and asks Marcus why she is calling him her father. He tells her that Ella is his stepdaughter and that they had assumed she was dead after searching for her for years. A woman dressed in yellow comes out and Marcus introduces her as Cecilia, his wife. Cecilia greets Rapunzel and asks her who she is. Rapunzel is too upset to answer.

(Hi, Cecilia!)
Gothel and Drizella stakeout Victoria and Rumple. Gothel looks at the air freshener and says that it amazes her how people keep trying to recreate nature even after they destroy it. Drizella is confused and says that it’s just an air freshener. She says they need to pay attention because her mother will lead them to Anastasia. Gothel warns her not to underestimate her mother but Drizella says that when given the choice, her mother will always make the wrong one. And they will catch her because of that.

(ABC's newest buddy cop sitcom!)
In the Enchanted Forest, Rapunzel serves tea to her daughters but runs out of water. Anastasia says they are just there for her company but Drizella says that she’s thirsty. Marcus comes out to them and Drizella happily greets him. He tells the girls that they need to head back to the house while he talks with their mother. Inside, Rapunzel says that she’s losing her daughters but Marcus insists that they are happy she is back—Anastasia can’t stop talking about her. Rapunzel says that Drizella is slipping away from her and he tells her she needs to give Drizella time because she was so young when Rapunzel disappeared. He then gives her a present, revealing he fixed her old cloak. He puts it on her and tells her that if she hadn’t made the deal she did, he would probably be dead and the girls’ lives would be awful. Marcus assures her that she allowed them to have a good life. Rapunzel asks him if he loves her and he replies that he does still love her and their girls. But he also loves Ella and Cecilia. He then says he has to go and beats a hasty retreat.

(Does he love Cecilia or Rapunzel?)
Rapunzel starts to cry but Gothel interrupts her, commenting on it. Turning around, Rapunzel finds her captor on the couch. She asks if Gothel is there to put her back in the tower and she replies that she isn’t. In fact, she’s impressed that Rapunzel got out. She says that she honored her deal with Rapunzel and her family sleeps comfortably in their manor house. Rapunzel, though, says that for all intents and purposes, she’s still trapped in the tower. Gothel, though, reminds her that their deal was to save her family. She says that Rapunzel was pure of heart and did what she had to do for her family’s hapiness. Now she wants to know what Rapunzel will do to get her own. Gothel gives her a mushroom, like the one Drizella used in the last episode. She says that all Rapunzel has to do is put a few drops of its poison in Cecilia’s drink and she will go away forever. Rapunzel throws the mushroom into the fire, saying Cecilia is an innocent and she won’t hurt her. Gothel says that if she holds true to her convictions, Rapunzel might find happiness again one day. If not, though, there is always her way—she leaves the mushroom on the mantel before disappearing, leaving Rapunzel alone again.

(Seriously. What is it with this show and mushrooms?)
Jacinda watches nervously as Nick reviews the documents Victoria gave her. He declares them legitimate and says that Victoria has conceded—Lucy is hers. Jacinda thanks him and they share a hug. When they pull back, there is a moment and Nick kisses her. She ends it after a few seconds, saying that’s not what she wanted. He says he must’ve misread the signs and she first says no before saying yes. She says that she’s glad he’s back in their lives and wants him to have a relationship with Lucy. He says he wants that as well and then leaves. Jacinda grabs the mixed tape she made Henry and looks all hopeful, like she’s ready to finally move on with him.

(Looks like Nick is still hung up on Jacinda)
Rogers gets off an elevator and approaches the door to Weaver’s evidence locker of secrets. He stares at the keypad before pulling the fire alarm, which automatically unlocks the door for him. He goes inside and starts poking around Rumple’s collection, even picking up his own hook—though he doesn’t know it. Rogers is then drawn to a metal container where he realizes that Rumple has files on every fairy tale character in Hyperion Heights. He settles on a file with Sabine’s picture on it as he wonders what “Weaver” is up to.

(Heh. His own hook)
He goes to visit Sabine, commenting how good the truck looks now that it’s the Rolling Bayou. She tells him that it’s almost ready for its debut before asking why he’s there since she doesn’t think he came down to check on the truck. He says that he’s there to follow up on the fire from a few episodes ago and she’s surprised, saying Weaver already did that. He says that he’s doing some additional work and since he doesn’t want to interrupt Weaver on his day off, asks Sabine to tell him what she talked about with Weaver. She says that Weaver told her that a door had been jimmied by a knife, which he claims was found nearby. He showed it to her and she offers to draw it for Rogers. She says it didn’t look like a regular knife and seemed like something out of a Tim Burton film. Weaver thrust it into her hands and kept asking her if she felt anything. The camera reveals that she drew the Dark One dagger as she asks Rogers what’s going on. He says he’s trying to figure that out.

(Serious!Rogers is serious)
Rumple and Victoria arrive at a mausoleum and enter it, him carrying a crowbar. He looks around but he’s not worried that someone will spot him walking into a mausoleum with a crowbar. No, he’s spotted their tail and he tells Victoria about them. She says she knows but isn’t concerned. She has plans for those two.

He uses the crowbar on one of the crypts and peers inside, saying he expected a body. Victoria is pleased she can still surprise him as she pulls the bed out, revealing a large black bag there instead. She picks it up and says it contains everything she needs to wake Anastasia. He tells her that she’s going through a lot of trouble to resurrect one daughter when she has one literally stalking her every move. Rumple talks about Bae and how he lost him, how he would do anything to get him back. And he paid the costs—and then some. He tries to get her to appreciate Drizella but Victoria is not hearing any of it. So he asks her about the information she promised him. Victoria tells him that he will get it once she has awakened Anastasia. She then tells him that Drizella hasn’t been her daughter for a very long time.

(I mean, I know some women go to great lengths to preserve their designer bags, but this is a bit much)
We cut to Drizella’s birthday party. People in fine dresses mill about as Rapunzel, dressed in white, moves around with a tray of drinks. Cecilia approaches her and compliments her lavender lemonade. She then notes that it’s her daughter’s birthday and so Rapunzel shouldn’t be working but celebrating. She then excuses herself and Marcus slides up, telling Rapunzel that Cecilia is trying. He looks over at Drizella, Anastasia and Ella and says they all get along so maybe the parents could get do the same. Rapunzel says that she’s the maid and that she’s losing Drizella. She says she gave her daughter a present but Drizella never smiled. He tries to reassure her that Drizella loves her but then Drizella opens up a beautiful violin. She thanks Cecilia for it, calling her “Mother” and hugging her.

Ouch.

Rapunzel storms into her house. She sets down the tray but grabs a glass, throwing it at her mirror. It draws her attention to the mushroom Mother Gothel left her. She grabs it and squeezes some of its poison into the glass for Cecilia.

(Uh oh)
Drizella and Gothel head down into the mausoleum and Rumple tells them they took their sweet time. She asks where her mother is and he refuses to tell her. Drizella says they find her on her own and Rumple advises her to get better at tailing people. Gothel sends Drizella on ahead, saying she wants to talk with him.

Rumple says that Drizella believes in Gothel’s maternal act. He asks her why she calls herself mother when she herself isn’t a mother or a nun. She replies that mother means many things and then says that she never thought she would see the Dark One sulk or have love in his heart. He says he’s changed. She then asks him how Belle is and he tells her not to talk about her. Gothel tells him that he’ll never be reunited with her unless he lets her help. Rumple is pretty much “Thanks but no thanks.” He says that Victoria will wake Anastasia and give him what he needs. Gothel tells him that waking Anastasia will have a cost and says that Victoria has to break the belief of an innocent. She then asks him if he knows where his great-granddaughter is.

(Two villains, one crypt)
Lucy gets out of ballet and is wary when she sees Victoria waiting for her. She says that her mother just texted her and Victoria tells her that she’s having all of Lucy’s things brought over to Jacinda’s but she had something she wanted to give her in person. She pulls THE storybook out of her purse and Lucy gasps. Victoria tells her that everything she believes is true—fairy tales are real. She says that she doesn’t know the full story though and she wants to tell her about it. Lucy agrees.

(It's the book!)
Victoria and Lucy sit on a bench and the girl geeks out over the fact her step-grandmother is both Lady Tremaine and Rapunzel. Victoria explains that Tremaine was her husband Marcus’ name and she took it when they married. Lucy turns the page and gets confirmation that her mother is Cinderella, just like she thought. Victoria tells her that her belief makes her special. Lucy turns another page and sees Rapunzel poisoning Cecilia and is confused. Victoria tells her that the witch lied to her and that she was blinded by what was in her heart—the desire to get her family back. Lucy asks if she killed her mother’s mom but Victoria assures her that she didn’t. She says she knew the poison would just cause her to flee. She just didn’t know that Marcus would follow her to Wonderland. But he came back without her, they took in Ella and became a family. Unfortunately, the story didn’t end there, she says as Lucy comes to a drawing of the family on a snowy bank.

Ella, Drizella and Anastasia build a snowman on the shows of a iced over lake as Rapunzel and Marcus watch. Rapunzel says the girls are still like sisters and that it’s so nice to watch. As Marcus starts to thank Rapunzel for all the support she’s given him and the girls after Cecilia left, the snowman’s hat blows to the middle of the lake. Ella says she’ll gets it and walks toward it, not realizing the ice is thin and cracking under her shoes. Anastasia does and goes after her, putting more of a strain on the ice. Just as Marcus is about to kiss Rapunzel, the ice breaks, plunging Ella and Anastasia into the icy depths.

(Uh oh)
Marcus races toward the opening and jumps in as Drizella races to her mother’s side. Rapunzel holds her close and reassures her as Marcus comes back up. He places a girl on the ice and Rapunzel is angry to see it’s Ella. She asks where their daughter is and Marcus replies that he could only grab one.

(You can see the moment Rapunzel starts to hate Ella)
We cut to a hospital room, where Victoria shows Lucy the person inside. It’s Anastasia, hooked up to several monitors. Victoria tells Lucy that she did everything heroes were supposed to do and she still lost. She tells Lucy that fairy tales are real but happy endings are not. Lucy, though, says that her family will get their happy ending the right way. She says she, her mom and Henry will be together. Victoria says that she is Lucy’s family and Lucy snaps back that she isn’t. Victoria then tells Lucy that they are similar and that their stories are going to end similarly. She pulls out her phone and reveals that the doll she gave Jacinda is a nanny cam, which happened to capture Nick kissing Jacinda—though not when she broke it. Victoria tells Lucy that Jacinda doesn’t want Henry—and he’s left anyway, ignoring the fact that he’s coming back. She tells Lucy to let go of her belief and as the girl cries, we see the moment she does. A tear hits the book and she races off as Victoria stands triumphant over Anastasia.

(It's official. Victoria is a monster)
Rapunzel carries a nearly dead Anastasia to Gothel’s garden, pleading with her to save her daughter. She says that Anastasia tried to save another and is about to lose her life. Gothel locks in her last breath, saying she’s keeping the girl between life and death. Rapunzel asks if she can heal her and Gothel says she can…only this time, Anastasia will be locked in the tower. Rapunzel insists she’s an innocent who doesn’t deserve punishment. Gothel tells her it was never about punishment. It was a test. She is looking for the Guardian, someone who is pure of heart. She hoped it would be Rapunzel, who willingly sacrificed her own happiness for her family’s—but then she hurt Cecilia. Now she was going to test Anastasia. Rapunzel vows to tear down the tower to get to her daughter and Gothel says she made some improvements to it, including blood magic to keep the next occupant in. She reaches for her magic to make it happen.

She can’t find it though. Rapunzel reveals she nicked it and says that she learned how to take what she wanted from Gothel. As Gothel protests, Rapunzel dumps some of the magic in her hand and tosses it at the witch. Gothel disappears to the tower while Rapunzel promises Anastasia that she will wake her again.

(Karma is a bitch)
In the Land Without Magic, she uses an eyedropper to pick up Lucy’s tear.

A police officer gives Lucy’s bag to Rumple but says there was no sign of her. She asks him if they should alert Lucy’s mother but he’s sure the last place she went was home. He tells her to keep looking and reminds her that she’s reporting directly to him and no one else on that one. She nods and walks off to continue her search.

Rogers shows up and demands answers from Rumple—about why he’s interviewing witnesses in Rogers’ case, why he has files on nearly everyone in the Heights, why he’s speaking in riddles but still seems to want to tell Rogers something. Rumple tells him that he’s separated from his wife Belle and he’s trying to get back to her, so everything he does is to try to find her. Rogers says that’s the less believable thing Rumple’s ever told him but yet he believes him. He agrees to help him and Rumple says that first, they need to find Lucy.

We see a heartbroken Lucy walking pass a dress store that has Ella’s ball gown and Tiana’s ball gown in the window. She returns home and Jacinda is concerned over how upset her daughter is. Meanwhile, Victoria kisses Anastasia’s forehead before dropping the tear on it. It glows gold and Anastasia wakes up, causing Lucy to fall unconscious.

(Oh no! Poor Lucy!)
Jacinda tries to wake her daughter as Anastasia asks her mother what is going on. Victoria tells her that she saved her and hugs Anastasia, saying she always finds a way when it comes to her family. Outside the room, Drizella watches with her own broken heart before leaving the hospital.

(On the outside looking in)
Oh no! Poor Lucy! As if Victoria couldn’t sink any lower and then she goes to such extremes to break a ten year old’s belief. Ugh. She’s just awful.

And no wonder Victoria has such a messed up view of tests. Gothel gave her a messed up test and screwed with what is good for one’s family. Sometimes you do have to put your own personal desires aside, sometimes compromises are necessary. Once needs to show that. Compromises. They are good things.

Next week: Everyone rallies to save Lucy as we find out who exactly cast the curse.
