Face Off: The Candy Man Can!

Last week on “Face Off:” The contestants were hauled out to the desert to be inspired to create demons in teams. But then McKenzie comes in and changes it up: Hell hath frozen over. At judging, Anthony and Alam’s demon came out on top with Anthony continuing his winning streak. Autumn is confused as she thought her demon was “adorable” but she and Alex end up in the bottom four. But Katie was sent home in though her partner Jenna has a medical condition which makes sculpting difficult. Eleven contestants remain, who is eliminated tonight? Find out!

Face Off!

LA! The contestants miss Katie while Jenna talks about her problem. She tries to move on. Autumn talks about how surprised she was to be in the bottom.

The contestants leave and meet McKenzie at some 1920s building. It was the site of a beard and mustache challenge. The national beard champion, John Meyer, describes it as a mix between a beauty pageant and dog show. Female models are brought out. The contestants are challenged to turn them into a bearded lady from a circus. Winner will get immunity at Last Looks. John tells them to watch the jawline and then lets the contestants loose. Jenna talks about how she needs immunity. Eric F. doesn’t do facial hair and wings it. Meagan and Wayne talk about the hackles, which are sharp and dangerous. Eric Z. fears he might be too conservative.

Time’s up! John likes the pink and curls of Alex’s look. He likes Jenna’s look as well as Eric Z’s. We zoom through the other looks. Time to reveal the winner! His favorite looks: Eric Z and Alex. Our winner is Eric Z. Yay! Sorry, Anthony, you were unseated. Eric Z. gets immunity as McKenzie dismisses them.

At the lab, they’ve recreated Willy Wonka’s factory. McKenzie challenges them to create a candy creature with candy used. Kris picks up some candy corn as well as licorice. He calls it “Night of the Living Candy.” Candy seeks revenge for Halloween. Anthony creates Colonel Candy while Eric Z wants to create the witch from Hansel and Gretel. Alam goes more cartoonish and Eric F (surprise surprise) goes grotesque. House’s creature has a sweet tooth for a stomach. It’s creepy. Eric F loves it. Autumn goes for an undead, half-eaten
gummy bear. But she has trouble sculpting a bear face. So she gets frustrated.

Coming Up: Problems with molds.

Autumn is still upset as everyone else keeps sculpting. Meagan was a dancer and so creates a sugar plum fairy. She decides to focus on beauty. Wayne has sugar rock candy. Meanwhile, Jenna’s hand is numb as the Westmores enter! Michael tells Autumn how to fix her bear face. He tells Alex to add more candy. Michael checks in with House’s time management and advises Jenna to do something with her nose. McKenzie wishes them luck as they leave.

Alam moves on to molding. She colors her silicon and talks about how she is getting better at using silicon. Kris gets ready to incorporate the candy while House feels good at where he is at. He wonders why everyone is rushing around and he’s so relaxed as we call TIME!

Day 2! Wayne works on the arms and legs of his creature while Eric Z adds a gingerbread house to his witch. Alex decides to use silicon while Alam works on her costume. Jenna meanwhile, tries to open her mold. She grows frustrated as things break.

COMMERCIALS!

We come back to Jenna’s problem. She finds a spare mannequin to use but is worried about the wasted time. House, meanwhile, starts pre=painting some of his pieces. With his wig done, Anthony focuses on the costume. Eric F. meanwhile struggles with his mold, which is turning into a monster. Kris is happy about where he is as TIME is called.

Day 3! Everyone waits for the models to arrive while Eric Z. is happy to have immunity. They begin applying things to their models. Alex has trouble getting her pieces to stick to her model while Autumn paints her model. Meagan and Alex admire Eric F’s blob and Alex worries her look is too understated. Jenna, meanwhile, has trouble painting with her numb hair. Autumn calls Eric F’s makeup a “pile of mess.” Let’s keep in mind this is the woman who thought her demon was “adorable.”

TIME! Alex is worried but doesn’t want to go home.

Coming Up: The judges!

At the studio, everyone finishes up their creatures. Alex worries the rock candy won’t be prominent while Eric F’s model is stuck to the floor. TIME! Jenna is not confident in her look.

McKenzie welcomes the contestants to Last Looks. There are judges: Glenn, Ve, and Neville. Tonight we have a guest judge, an artist who uses candy and worked on Katy Perry’s “California Gurls”: Will Cotton. Alam thinks her creature looks like Katy Perry and Will is awesome. The creatures come out.

House: Freaky. I’m glad I don’t watch horror.
Autumn: Not very bearlike. Autumn doesn’t like the wig.
Jenna: Excuse me. I have to go brush my teeth.
Eric Z: Maybe the new Hansel and Gretel movie can use this witch?
Alex: This is Toddler and Tiara meets horror.
Kris: Awesome use of the candy, in my opinion. It’s like a Klingon fell into Willy Wonka’s factory.
Meagan: Thinks her character looks cute.
Anthony: I feel like he escaped from Babes in Toyland.
Wayne: Beware the candy goblin! And a good paint job!
Alam: Wow. She might be the dark horse.
Eric F: Imagine having to mop that up? And the poor model will probably smell like gummy bears for the rest of the day.

The judges go to take a closer look. They love House’s moving stomach. Autumn’s work is pinged. Jenna’s work is starting to collapse.

COMMERCIALS!

The judges’ examination continue. Will likes Erik Z’s gingerbread house and Kris’ work.

Will praises their work. Eric Z, Meagan, Anthony, Wayne and Eric F are all safe and dismissed. Alam is called up first. She says she was inspired by Asian animation. Glenn and Ve like her face. Neville likes how the look works together and Will likes the anime inspiration. Jenna is next. Ve notes the rock candy crown but there is no candy anywhere else. Will says she’s missing allure. Alex is next. Will says there is application problems, which the others echo.

Kris follows. Will loves his creature and the use of candy corn. Ve loves the fingernails and teeth. Neville notes it is a lot of work and loves the licorice as muscle definition. House is next. Neville likes the concept and prosthetics but not the paint job. Will praises his depiction of gluttony. Autumn is last. Glenn notes the best part is the wardrobe. Ve notes he doesn’t look like a bear. Neville notes the technical issues. The contestants are dismissed.

Will loves Alam’s creature. Ve says Kris is the “most well done” makeup. Will won’t forget House’s look. They didn’t like Alex’s pageant idea. The judges note about Jenna’s hand but Ve says her problem isn’t her hands. Glenn worries about Autumn’s abilities.

The top looks are Alam, Kris and House. And the winner is…

COMMERCIALS!

Anyway, the winner is Kris! Yay! He says he stopped Anthony’s winning streak. Well, actually, Eric Z did that. Alam and House are dismissed. The remaining three step forward. Alex: Not sure what she spent her time on this week. Jenna: Little candy. Autumn: Second guessing evident in her makeup. So Alex is eliminated. And so Autumn is around for another week. Alex thanks the judges and leaves.

She says it was a wild ride and thinks she made friends. There’s a group hug as Alex promises to be around.
