(Don’t) Beat It!

Last week: Kayla had a racing heart and ended up in the hospital. When she came home, they went to the set of CSI to audition for showrunner Anthony Zuiker. And he’s awesome. The girls stumbled over the large words, but Lisa just bombs. Bre wins a role on CSI. They then had a shoot with Express, in which Bianca said she knew better than anybody else. At judging, Angelea rose to the top while Lisa and Camille fell into the bottom two. But Lisa stuck around, hopefully bringing more flashbacks of Cousin Itt with her, as Camille was sent packing. Who won’t reach the top tonight? Find out!

Wanna be on top?

Huh, the credits are earlier this episode.

At the model mansion, Angelea tells everyone to look at her picture. She says it feels great to go from the bottom straight to the top. She says that if the girls are hating, they should be because she’s competition. She says it was difficult to get work after being on the show (because of the show!). Kayla and Bianca talk about the competition, especially Bianca going on about how she wishes she could do better. Dominique, though, puts it best: Bianca thinks she’s above the competition and she’s not.

TYRA MAIL! “Remember—what goes around comes around.” They agree it’s a challenge.

Shannon gets ready and blathers on about how the good girls should win. She then comes up with a system so everyone could call home. Bianca questions Shannon’s ability to calculate time, as everyone is supposed to get 20 minutes but there are ten of them. That equals 200 minutes or 3 hours and twenty minutes. Shannon says they have an hour and forty-five minutes to do so. People six through ten are going to lose. Lisa jumps on Bianca, who for the first time is in the right, after Shannon runs off crying and offering her time slot. She walks off and says she wasn’t the bad guy. And she wasn’t.

Sparah decides that was the best cat fight.

The girls go their challenge in the Model Mobile as Bre says they needed to clear the air. They go to the Santa Monica pier. Angelea says they see a fisherman, who is Ms. J. He/She/It welcomes them and Bre thinks he/she/it is missing half his/her/its wardrobe. He tells them they are going to do a runway, namely a carousel runway. They have to step on a moving carousel and back off. Angelea remembers the pendulum runway from her cycle. The girls learn they will be modeling clothes from the Kardashians clothing line. I like Kourtney.

Anyway, Bianca complains about Lisa and Bre supports her “sister.” Lisa says Bre is far more fun when she’s not around Bianca. Meanwhile, Dominique says the girls shouldn’t be fighting but focusing on winning. Ms. J brings in Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian. Khloe tells them to strut their stuff and the winner will get a complete outfit. Oh, hey, it’s Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner! After Kim and Rob, I want to see Kris on Dancing with the “Stars”. The girls are nervous as they start up the carousel.

COMMERCIALS!

SANTA MONICA PIER! Kayla says they were all terrified about jumping on the carousel while the Kardashians welcome everyone. Is it just me or is the carousel music creepy? Lisa goes first and seems to own the runway. Allison has a stumble but smiles through it. Angelea also stumbles but makes it work. Ms. J compares her to the alcoholic aunt. Kayla looks fierce while Bre decides to be spontaneous. Laura looks amazing and I want her outfit. Lisa says Bianca looked mean while Khloe didn’t think she had energy. Shannon outshines Bianca as Alexandria hops off the carousel. She goes on about a shark metaphor before the final walk.

Apparently the Kardashians couldn’t decide on one girl. Bre and Lisa share the win. The two hug in celebration before hugging the Kardashian sisters. Kim thanks the other girls before running off the beach. Ms. J talks the girls inside and asks Bianca who she is angry at. She responds “Everybody!” and he says she looked it. And Bianca lets it go. In front of the girls. That’s going to be an awkward bus ride home. Shannon asked what she had done. Besides not be able to calculate time? Nothing much. It was Lisa really, who made it far worse than it was.

At home, Bianca finally gets her phone time and she keeps going on about quitting. She cries on the phone to her boyfriend. Shannon, Alexandria and Lisa talk about Bianca while Bre listens in. Laura passes her and she motions for her to be quiet. Laura is like “I’m not getting into this.” Bre runs into the phone room to give Bianca a pep talk.

COMMERCIALS!

TYRA MAIL! “You’ll get noticed when you’re off the wall.” Someone thinks cliff-diving.

The girls go to Siren to meet Mr. Jay. He has Michael Jackson’s red jacket. Apparently, they are going to be doing a photoshoot emulating Michael Jackson through the year. Jackson’s personal stylist will be doing their wardrobe as we meet Tim Petersen, the photographer. Lisa is excited. Who gets the Captain Eo look? Mr. Jay comes to talk to them and says they might need some help. Dramatic pause. And there’s LaToya Jackson. Angelea starts tearing up and is able to name everyone in the family. She’s a Jackson fan.

LaToya tells Bianca to shine through in the picture and it’ll make it great. She actually has good advice. She’s wearing the red jacket. Bianca rocks it as Bre steps up. Mr. Jay loves it as does Rushka, the personal stylist. Mr. Jay reminds her to breathe. Alexandria gets the one sparkly glove and gericurl. Angelea steps up and is told to thrust. He asks her what she’s doing and he tells her to use her love for Michael. He wasn’t too impressed. Dominique can still rock a pantsuit. And Kayla finally brought her A-game!

LaToya dresses Shannon, who thinks she can rock this shoot. And apparently she does. The girls have fun back stage as Laura gets on the stage. She gets praise from Mr. Jay and LaToya. Allison gets the young Jackson years and looks adorable. Lisa starts dancing during her shoot. LaToya loves her while Bianca still hates her. The photograph hauls her off the stage.

That’s a wrap!

LaToya wishes them the best and thanks them for their tribute to Michael. Lisa gets high-fives from Shannon and Angelea but not from Bianca. So Shannon says “Rejected” and Bianca goes on about Shannon being a Christian. Shannon is like, “I was just trying to be funny.” Apparently Christians can’t have a sense of humor. Bianca whines some more as we go to…

COMMERCIALS!

Tyra greets the girls. There are judges—Nigel and Andre. LaToya is back as the guest judge. At least we don’t have to listen to the Kardashians talk over each other. Anyway, there are prizes. Shannon is first and Tyra praises her outfit. Nigel loves her picture. LaToya praises her ability to become the character. Tyra reminds her to connect with her face. Kayla is next and Nigel calls it inspired. LaToya thinks she looks like she was actually singing the song. Dominique is next and everyone loves it. Angelea follows. Nigel calls it “intense” and “different” but not Michael Jackson. LaToya tells her to work her body as does Tyra. Allison is next. LaToya says she captured the era and looks a bit like Donny Osmond. Tyra loves it.

Bre is next and Nigel says he sees Michael, not Bre. Tyra praises her for standing en pointe while LaToya repeats the advice to breath. Everyone loves Alexandria. Andre doesn’t like Lisa’s outfit. Nigel calls her out for split. Andre doesn’t like her picture. Tyra asks if this is her signature pose, but Andre says it doesn’t work here. Laura follows and everyone loves her picture. Bianca is last and LaToya wanted more powerful lines. Nigel wanted more confidence. Bianca says that she is stressed and Tyra reveals that Ms. J called her. Bianca says she is having problems within the house but she won’t break. Tyra reminds her she is a model, no matter what’s going on.

COMMERCIALS!

The judges deliberate. I actually like LaToya as a guest judge. She’s like Anthony Zuiker—you wouldn’t think she’d be so knowledgeable, but she actually has good things to say! Nigel talks about Bianca’s statement while LaToya talks about not letting the negativity stop her. LaToya praises the girls as Tyra makes her decision.

ELIMINATION! Apparently the guest judge decide who was best photo and did the entire order. Which makes sense—she knows her brother.

Wait, we’re going to COMMERCIALS?

Oh, we’re back. Let’s get on with the eliminating, Tyra. Anyway, the best photo goes to Laura. She is joined by: Shannon, Dominique, Allison, Alexandria, Kayla, Bre, and Bianca. So our bottom two are Angelea and Lisa. Don’t send Angelea home. She’s Miss Personality this cycle! Angelea: LaToya doesn’t know the Angelea that they know. The judges are seeing peaks and lows. Lisa: Tyra liked her picture but the others didn’t. They feel Lisa is one-note. So who goes home? LaToya talks about Michael Jackson was about loving and giving, which the girls gave. So it’s a non-elimination. Tyra then reveals she has two photos in her hands. So that means there’s a double elimination in the future.

Lisa and Angelea hug LaToya, who says that Michael wouldn’t want to see them go home. He’d tell them to work harder. Angelea starts crying.

America’s Next Top Model:

Shannon (Cycle 1)
Camille (Cycle 2)
Brittany (Cycle 4)
Bre (Cycle 5)
Lisa (Cycle 5)
Bianca (Cycle 9)
Dominique (Cycle 10)
Isis (Cycle 11)
Sheena (Cycle 11)
Allison (Cycle 12)
Laura (Cycle 13)
Angelea (Cycle 14)
Kayla (Cycle 15)
Alexandria (Cycle 16)

A non-elimination? We haven’t had one of those in a while. I kinda guessed it when LaToya said that Tyra was making her the bad guy. Actually, the fact that Tyra was leaving it up to the guest judge was a BIG clue.

Anyway, the Kardashians are everywhere, aren’t they? And they kept talking over each other, confusing me. Pick one person, put duct tape over Khloe’s mouth if she isn’t it, and then talk. Bianca’s attitude is going to be her downfall if she isn’t careful. First her comments to Mr. Jay, now her comments to Ms. J and the panel. But Shannon needs to toughen up. Okay, she goofed on the math. Why did she need to start crying over that? Either adjust everyone’s time to ten minutes or ask if anyone would be willing to talk after their challenge. (Which by the way was awesome!) So, point goes to Bianca for that, though not for the bitchfest that followed.

Coming Up: Bianca let’s loose while they pose with someone named Coco.

PS: Week 2 of “Bre Watch” on CSI. No sign yet.

Quote of the Episode

“I feel somebody saved me. I don’t know if it was LaToya, if it was Michael or if it was Jesus.”—Angelea about the non-elimination.
In the Model Mobile, Bre complains about not being a front-runner while Lisa talks about being in the bottom two. She says the girls just see her as the crazy one. You are the crazy one, Lisa.
