ANTM: Going to the Dogs

Last time on "ANTM:" The models learned how to use Vine to film videos promoting girls going into STEM fields. Courtney continued to struggle with her self-confidence and Bello seemed incapable of accepting any responsibility for his shortcomings. They then posed as dolls before learning that two models would be eliminated at panel. Lacey once again rose to the top while Devin, Courtney and Bello fell into the bottom three. Devin was spared as Bello and Courtney were both sent home. Seven models remain, who is eliminated tonight?

Find out!

Everyone returns to the house to see Lacey’s best picture…again. She realizes everyone is getting sick of her winning. Devin points out that there’s only seven of them left and everyone is surprised that their numbers have dwindled so fast. Justin talks about how everyone is stepping it up and he talks about how his parents weren’t thrilled with his career choice but that they came around.

Hadassah talks about how she and Bello left things in a bad place and she wishes she would’ve known why he had acted like that toward. She also talks about how everyone underestimates her. Hadassah talks about having to deal with going down a socio-economic level when her parents left her with relatives and she says she worked so she could buy her siblings presents. So she wants the money for herself and for them.

In the Tyra Suite, Lacey’s TyTyTip is to not let her fellow contestants’ get to her because they are jealous and consider her a threat.

TYRA MAIL! “You better Book it if you want to book it.” Devin realizes it means they are going on go sees but he’s more excited to get his portfolio. He tells the others about his experiences but he’s kinda drunk and Lacey’s just over it.

The model mobile brings them to Next as we see a picture of Keith, last cycle’s winner. Hey, is he going to show up? At all? Is Will? Kelly and Alexis welcome them. Nyle is really excited to get some experience and feel like a real working model. Kelly says they will be paired up for this and then brings in the eliminated models! The remaining contestants flip out and Bello stares at them like he’s going to murder them all.

He did pass the psych exam, right?

Right?

Kelly says they’ll pick an eliminated model to partner with but the eliminated model will be scored as well. Because one of the seven remaining contestants will be going home…but one of the seven eliminated contestants will be coming back. As the remaining contestants react, Bello looks like he’s going to murder one to come back.

Seriously, they still have to take the psych exam, right?

Wanna be on top?

Alexis lets Lacey pick first and she goes with Stefano because she says he’s a great model. Nyle picks Delanie, Justin goes for Dustin, Mikey picks Ashley (of course), Hadassah picks Ava, Mame picks Courtney, which sticks Devin with Bello. Bello says Hadassah has changed and says this has opened his eyes. Dude, you blew them all off and you’re surprised no one is picking you? Really?
And he tells them to his face. I’m surprised no one shot back “You gave us the cold shoulder!” though Hadassah looked ready for it. I’m not sure why I’m so surprised. Bello never struck me as one to care for anyone else but himself.

Kelly tells them the usual go-see rules: they have three hours to see 4 clients and they have to be back on time. Alexis sends them to their cars and away they go. Mame and Courtney go to Koco Blaq first and Mame wows them. Courtney, not so much. Lacey and Stefano arrive at Idan Cohen and Stefano blathers on about how much he wants to come back. The publicist says Lacey tripped a few times so she wouldn’t book her.

Bello and Devin as well as Hadassah and Ava show up at Idan Cohen at the same time. Team Girls take the elevator while Team Boys take the stairs. Team Girls win and wait for Lacey and Stefano to finish. Team Boys decide to go to Koco Blaq instead. Hadassah wows at Idan Cohen while Ava needs some runway lessons with Miss J.

Mikey and Ashley flirt in their limo while Bello and Devin still haven’t gone to a go-see. Dustin and Justin end up at tumblr and twisted. They both shine together and seem made for that brand. Delanie and Nyle also go there and the creative director loves Nyle. Devin and Bello finally make it somewhere—Artistix Jeans. Neither really impresses. Nyle is thisclose to killing Delanie because she keeps forgetting her stuff. We kinda fly through these go-sees. Dustin and Justin kinda crash Mikey and Ashley’s Idan Cohen meeting and then head back. Nyle and Delanie sacrifice their fourth go-see to head back as well. Not sure where Mikey and Ashley got the leis but they head back to Next. Stefano and Lacey make it back first.

As Justin and Dustin get stuck in traffic, so do Devin and Bello. Bello says he can’t be late as we go to…

COMMERCIALS!

Bello decides to get out of the car and make a run for it, but doesn’t make sure Devin keeps up. They both make it back but Bello was like “I’m definitely safe.” Didn’t the partners have to both make it back? I think Hadassah and Ava make it back at the last second but Mame and Courtney are stuck in traffic. It sounds like Mame is blaming Courtney but didn’t she make the decision to see the fourth client? Oh, no, she’s actually apologizing and blaming herself.

Kelly and Alexis give feedback to the models. Mikey, Nyle, Hadassah and Stefano did well. Though Kelly calls Justin and Dustin for crashing Mikey and Ashley’s Idan Cohen go-see, they still booked three jobs. Devin only booked one but Bello didn’t book any. He hums and I have a feeling he’s already trying to figure out how to blame this on someone else. Mame booked all four go-sees but is disqualified. Even though she should’ve won, Hadassah wins the challenge instead. She gets pieces from the designers and gets to walk in LA Fashion Week.

Kelly sends everyone home to their house and the eliminated models greet the house before they check their challenge scores. They then also have to squeeze all fourteen back in and Justin compares it to everyone coming home from college. But is it fair to kick Hadassah out? She’s technically still in the competition.

COMMERCIALS!

Yu Tsai welcomes back all the models. And he’s with his dog, Soy. He talks about how dogs and their owners begin to look alike and asks if Soy looks like him. The models will be posing with dogs that look like them for today’s shoot. And their photographer isn’t Erik Asla for a change! It’s Yu Tsai!

No pressure, right?

Hadassah says her poodle is prettier than her and prepares for her shoot. She seems to rock. Bello is next, paired with a husky. Devin gives Bello props and says he’s doing well. Bello tells Hadassah her only relationship in the house is over and Hadassah’s over it. Nyle goes next and poses with the husky as well. He nails it and Mikey goes next, posing with an Afghan hound. Yu Tsai says he struggled with Mikey and that he keeps giving the same thing. Ashley goes next and poses with a Chihuahua. Dustin impresses Yu Tsai as he posed with a pit bull. Justin also poses with the pit bull but struggles. Yu Tsai even lies down and curls up over it as we go to…

COMMERCIALS!

Yu Tsai tells Justin just to chill with the dog and sees if that works. Mame tells Justin he should’ve played with it more before she poses with a doberman. Delanie poses with the poodle and seems to struggle and Ava struggles with the teacup rather than the Chihuahua. Devin gets to pose with a Chinese Crested, which he says looks like its on crack. Lacey poses with a shepherd dog and Stefano gets to pose with the Afghan hound. Courtney goes last, posing with Benny.

That’s a wrap!

Bello, Courtney, Delanie and Hadassah hang out in the hot tub. When Hadassah talks about her time in the bottom two, Bello says he’s worse off and Hadassah asks him why he’s starting drama with her. He says its because he’s a passionate person and he thought they were friends. He says that’s how he acts when he’s passionate about something. I can’t believe I’m on Hadassah’s side, but Bello does strike me as someone who seeks drama and thrives off it. And he doesn’t realize it. He thinks it’s him being passionate. I think he’s going to have a wake up call now that this has aired and I hope someone is able to drill it into his head that he’s a drama queen and a narcissist.

SKULL MAIL! Someone’s going home! Everyone wonders who it will be as Bello promises to up the crazy if he returns. Seriously, producers, did he pass the frickin’ psych exam?

COMMERCIALS!

Panel! Tyra welcomes all the models back. There are prizes. And there are judges—Kelly Cutrone and Miss J Alexander. Hadassah is first and Tyra congratulates her for winning the challenge. She does point out Mame would’ve won if she had made it back on time. Kelly loves Hadassah’s shot. Devin is next and admits to only book 1 out of 3 at the go-sees. Tyra calls his shot Debonair (while Kelly coins “Devinair”) and Kelly says he needs more versatility in his film. Kelly’s not pleased with Mikey’s shot but Tyra likes the positioning. Lacey is next. Everyone loves it and you can tell the others are like “Of course.” Kelly doesn’t like it but Tyra does. They see two different things. Justin is next. The judges aren’t impressed. Nyle is the last of the remaining contestants. And the judges love it. Miss J calls it an ad campaign and Kelly agrees.

Ashley is first for the eliminated contestants. The judges wanted more and Tyra says she should have matched the dog. The judges love Stefano’s shot. And they adore Dustin’s shot. Tyra praises his profile and says she’s been hoping to see that look since she had to reject his first week picture with it.  Courtney is next and both Kelly and Tyra love her shot. Tyra tells her to bring what she does in the picture to her personality, she’ll go far. Tyra likes that Delanie danced with her dog but I’m not too sure what my read on the judges’ is. Miss J and Kelly love Ava’s shot. The judges love Bello’s shot but he didn’t book anything at the go-sees. Tyra tells him he can be as passionate as he can be but someone has to choose him.

Tyra dismisses the models so the judges can tally up their scores.

COMMERCIALS!

So who is coming back into the competition? Well, let’s start with who isn’t—Ashley (6.5, 6.5, 7.1). Also not coming back: Delanie (7, 7, 8.5), Bello (7, 9.3, 8.3), Courtney (7.9, 9.3, 9.3), and Ava (8.1, 9.7, 9.2). That leaves Dustin and Stefano. So who is coming back? Dustin (8, 10, 9.1). She tells Stefano that he made her proud and that he has a career ahead of him. Tyra sends Dustin to stand to the side.

ELIMINATION! Best photo goes to…Nyle (10, 10, 10). He is joined by Hadasah (8, 9.9, 9.7), Lacey (9, 9.8, 9.6), Mame (8.1, 9, 7.8), and Mikey (7.5, 8, 7.9). That leaves Justin and Devin in the bottom two. Only one gets to go to Vegas, baby! Because I guess they ran out of international destinations to go to! Devin: Good looks and effervescent personality but the judges wonder if he’s being serious. Justin: Great cheekbones and amazing swagger…but the swagger is dimming. So who stays?

*Contestant came back into competition

Well, I wasn’t expecting a comeback since they dropped the social media aspect. I always thought it was just a gimmicky to hide the true elimination order. But I’m glad it wasn’t Bello. He just seemed…off…to me.

Next time: Vegas! Music video! Dustin flirting!
