And They All Lived Happily Ever After

This past season on Face Off: We’ve seen aliens, zombies, gender swaps and fooling loved ones. There have been romances (Megan and Conor), feuds (Jo vs Megan, everyone vs Frank’s laziness), and some really great creations. And some really bad ones. We are down to the final four: Tate, Gage, Sam and Conor. Who will win? Find out tonight!

LA! Gage says it’s unreal that they are in the final. He says he grew up in a trailer and it’d be great to win the money. Tate says he will buy a crib with his winning and see if he and his girlfriend can start a family. Sam notes she’s been the dark horse sliding under the radar and Conor is here to win.

They go to the lab to meet McKenzie to find out about their final challenge. They have to reinvent two characters from a classic fairy tale. The fairy tales are: Little Red Riding Hood, The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid. But there is a theme: Post-Apocalyptic, Outer Space, Haunted, Industrial, and Psychedelic. They will also design their own background for their models to pose on and this will all be displayed at a party being thrown in a few days.

Sam: The Little Mermaid and Psychedelic.
Tate: Little Red Riding Hood and Post-Apocalyptic.
Gage: Hansel and Gretel and Industrial
Conor: The Frog Prince and Haunted

McKenzie starts the clock and they start designing. Gage decides to really focus on the design. Hey, I’ve never seen them use laptops before! Conor starts sculpting as Majken Larssen comes over to help them create their background. Sam wants a brightly colored coral for her background. Tate wants a cityscape but icy and night time. Gage wants a closed candy shop. Conor wants a woodsy foreground and a castle in the background. As time gets called, some have started sculpting.

Day 2. They don’t think they have enough time. Conor worries that Tate is his biggest competition. McKenzie asks them to gather around and they all groan. They know she has some sort of twist for them.

Commercials!

McKenzie reveals she’s brought them help. And in come our eliminated contestants. Each gets to pick two former contestants to be their teams.

Tate: Tom and Anthony
Gage: Marcel and Jessica
Sam: Jo and Megan (This is going to be interesting!)
Conor: Frank and Sergio (Conor and Sergio are wearing the same shirt!)

So the teams get to work. Jessica, our first eliminated contestant, says she’s glad to get a second chance to show off her skills. Sam chose Jo because of her talent at body painting while Megan takes good directions. Everyone works and Conor scopes out his competition. McKenzie returns with Patrick. Patrick likes Tate’s design, particularly the tail. Conor impresses Patrick by doing props. McKenzie seems impressed with Gage’s ideas. Sam says she feels less stressed now that she has help. Patrick worries that Tate might run out of time to do his idea. He thinks that Conor knows this is the time to get creative and he thinks Gage is very imaginative.  Patrick is worried about the material Sam might use for her tentacles.

People move on to the mold phase. Tate decides to run foam in one of his molds but it breaks as we go to commercials.

We come back as Tom takes control and tries to fix it. But Tate says that the legs can work on either side, so they can just make two molds.

Everyone gathers back at the loft. The eliminated contestants want to party but Tate wants to concentrate on the final. Once again, Conor is here to win.

Day 3! Sam sets Jo and Megan on a task. The two girls seem to work well. Tate believes he does well under pressure. He starts putting the hair on his werewolf while Frank works on Conor’s scepter. Gage starts painting while Jessica and Marcel handle other tasks. Conor’s mask is ruined and Conor is panicking. He worries that he’s lost the competition.

Coming Up: The Last Final Looks and the Winner

We come back to Conor’s mini meltdown. Conor steps away for a bit and then decides to try to fix the mask. Everyone continues working as the clock runs down for the day.

Day 4! Everyone returns to the lab for application day. The models arrive and scatter out. Gage starts transforming his witch as Conor starts transforming his frog prince. Sam is worried that something might have fallen through the cracks as time is called. They do their last looks and final touch ups. Tate is just happy he got to build a werewolf. Everyone goes on stage and they pose their models before their backdrops. The finalists thank their former contestants and the party guests arrive. And we see some former guest judges back, like McKenzie’s dad and Sean Cunningham. The guests look around the new fairy tales.

McKenzie and the judges meet at a table as the party starts to dwindle down. The judges go to study each contestant as we go to commercials.

The judges study Gage’s work and ask him some questions about his concept. Glenn calls it the conceptually strongest thing Gage has done. They move on to Conor’s Frog Prince. They ask about the bladder and the tube. Glenn likes the color scheme. They move on to Sam’s Little Mermaid. Patrick thinks the background should’ve been more muted so the characters would’ve popped. They think the paint should’ve continued more than she did. They move on to Red Riding Hood. Tate says he was influenced by Japanese anime. Patrick likes his creations and Ve likes the touches of the bullet holes.

McKenzie and the judges go back to their table to discuss the winners. Ve thinks that Sam realizes she didn’t bring her all that night. Glenn thinks that Conor finally brought his all and blew them away. Ve loved Tate’s storyline and the full suit. Glenn likes the white werewolf and his take on Red. Ve loved Gage’s work. Glenn reiterates that it was Gage’s best work. Patrick liked how his work told the story. They have a difficult decision ahead.

The four finalists are brought out as McKenzie welcomes them back. One of them will win $100, 000 and a year’s supply of makeup. The eliminated contestants are there too to watch the crowning. Glenn says the first eliminated person is Sam. Patrick tells her that she’s gone through a lot of progress. As she joins the others, Gage gives her a hug. Of Conor, Tate and Gage, one of them is the winner.

And the winner will be revealed after these commercials!

And the winner of Face Off…will be revealed after Glenn gives them a pep talk about how they made it a difficult decision. Just tell us who won already, Glenn!

CONOR! YAY!

Confetti falls from the ceiling as everyone rushes to congratulate everyone. Ve tells Tate he did a good job as they hug. Tate and Gage know they have gained respect and new possibilities. Conor says he’s proud of his work and glad he won.

Congrats, Conor!

And that’s the finale! Happy that Conor won? You know I am. I think I’ve been rooting for him since they showed the Lord Zedd picture in the premiere. And other good news: SyFy has renewed this series for a second season!

Do you think the right person won?
