ANTM: How Not to Use Your Head

Last time on “ANTM”: Mirjana moved on from Matthew to Denzel while Matthew moved onto Will (!). The models do a photoshoot where they have to hold weird poses because they will flip the pictures for a cool effect. But the big thing was: Makeovers! Kari came close to having a meltdown but no true hair-related breakdowns. In the end, Ben rose to the top while Kari and Chantelle fell into the bottom two. Romeo’s magic proved strong when Chantelle was eliminated. Twelve contestants remain, who will be eliminated tonight? Find out!

The models return to see Ben’s first photo. He and Adam hang out in the Tyra Suite. Adam promises to return the favor when he wins. He says he wants to win the competition to move out of the cubicle. Will, meanwhile, is surprised Chantelle went home.

Keith is in love with Kari. Everyone decides to play truth and dare. Matthew dares Kari to make out with Mirjana. Everyone is excited over that. Kari and Mirjana agree. Everyone thinks it’s sexy, which is a bit hypocritical after everyone went nuts over Will and Matthew’s kiss. Romeo, meanwhile, talks about his dark powers of being able to take people out of the competition. Seriously, it’s freaky.

Wanna be on top?

Mirjana and Denzel agree to cuddle…once he gets off her pillow. Denzel doesn’t seem to mind the fact she has a boyfriend.

LA! Tyra welcomes the models to a set. She says sex sells. No, really. Tyra confesses she based a good part of her career on it but without having to take her pants off. She’s going to teach her secrets. Lenox is freaking out. Tyra’s rules:

1. Work the smirk. Put a tease into the smile. Keith works it. I think they re-did Kari’s hair—she’s wearing a hat in the confessional. Anyway, Tyra loves Will’s eyebrow and Raelia’s ssmirk.

2. Roll the head. She loves Mirjana’s roll and everyone starts fanning themselves mentally. Tyra likes Romeo’s but Adam struggles. She calls him a “hot mess. “ Romeo doesn’t think Adam belongs here and that’s who Romeo focuses on. Farewell, Adam!

3. Peeping tooch/booch. This involves someone checking you out but you pretend you don’t know. She says that it involves doing things to show off the curves. Like when you’re in the grocery store and you’re trying to show off for the cute stock box. Tyra says Lenox has no sexuality. Poor Lenox stands there, uncomfortable. Tyra tells her to try and then they try to find her booty. She tries to tell her not to give up, but it’s clear to her that Lenox does.

Tyra tells them to practice because they will have to work it or go home.

At home, everyone practices while Lenox keeps insisting that she can’t be sexy. Raelia tells her to try. She admits Lenox is one of the strongest competitors but she’s too doubting.

Yu Tsai wakes the house up the next morning and tells them they are getting paired up to film a commercial for a faux perfume based on the black widows. This will make them use Tyra’s teach.

Adam and Shei
Ben and Raelia
Keith and Mirjana
Denzel and Kari
Romeo and Lenox
Matthew and Will

Tyra definitely watches the feed. She has to. How else would she randomly pair Matthew and Will. The two admit they kissed so it’s all cool and Mirjana keeps insisting that Matthew’s lying about his sexuality. Meanwhile, Lenox is nervous about everything. Oh no, girl. Keep it together!

Anyway, Franco Lacosta is back to direct! We flashback to the subway challenge. Yu Tsai notices that Romeo remained in his seat and Franco tells him it was respectful to stand front and center. He tells Romeo to be respectful but Romeo thinks Franco was trying to intimidate him. He talks smack in front of hair and makeup, saying he doesn’t scare easily.

COMMERCIALS!

In hair and makeup, Lenox is still nervous. And I don’t get the playing cards in her hair. Mirjana and Denzel share a fruit by the foot Lady and the Tramp style. Meanwhile, the models have phones and they are flirting with them.

Ben and Raelia go first and nail it. Lenox gets nervous watching. Matthew and Will go next. Will says they can remain professional no matter what’s going on with them. Keith doesn’t think he could model with another man. Matthew says that he doesn’t believe in labels and that the way society looks at gay men is a problem. Mirjana and Keith impress Yu Tsai and Franco. Denzel stands off to the side, sending hate their way.

Kari admits that she’s only thinking about Keith while working with Denzel. Yu Tsai and Franco feel no chemistry. Denzel says she isn’t giving him anything. Keith wonders if Denzel’s focusing on Mirjana. Meanwhile, Adam and Ben are goofing off and running around the yard. Matthew makes a video with his phone while Romeo wants to kill them all.

Franco and Yu Tsai are not impressed with Adam. He tells him to die but Adam keeps struggling. Franco moves on as we  go to…

COMMERCIALS!

And now Lenox gets to struggle while Romeo tries. Yu Tsai keeps yelling at her but she still struggles. So they have Romeo take the lead. He does so and they praise him. Romeo says it’s his birthday and in fact, they change his age to 24.

Some of the house go to celebrate Romeo’s birthday that night. He ends up being a nice guy and coming out of his shell. Anyway, Adam goes to bed. Or tries to. Lenox says she woke up because Romeo is loud and drunk. Adam tries to get him to bed but Romeo shakes him off. He then grows belligerent. But Adam remains cool, saying he’s not going to punch Romeo because that’s an automatic disqualification. But Romeo keeps going on, telling Adam to his face how he doesn’t think Adam’s a model. How everyone knows that, how he’s “just” a personal trainer. He gets in Adam’s face but God bless Adam, the man keeps his cool. Maybe the frat boy lifestyle taught him not only how to hold his liquor but how to hold his temper. Others in the house are watching, worried about what’s going to happen.

And then Romeo headbutts Adam. It’s even done in slo-mo. Adam throws his hands up and steps back, looking at the producers or the crew or whoever is off screen.

COMMERCIALS. You know, I think all three judges are about to descend on that house. It’s not just going to be an enraged Tyra, but I think she’s going to bring Ms. J and Kelly along for the ride as well.

We see Romeo’s headbutt again. Adam stands there with hands in the air. Will pulls Romeo away while Mirjana tells Adam to go to the Tyra Suite. In the room, everyone tries to tell him that he just headbutted someone and how serious that is. Romeo says he doesn’t care. Someone checks on Adam but he’s fine.

The next morning, Romeo says he will lay off drinking. But he still keeps going off on Adam, saying if Adam wants him to go, he has to step up his game and be a model. He continues to lay into Adam, who does his best to keep distance. Everyone is walking on egg shells at this moment. So am I because I am waiting for the judges to rain fury down. I know it’s coming.

Anyway, the models head out for the day. Yu Tsai and Ms. J meet them at their place. Ms. J talks about the physical altercation and their zero tolerance policy. Romeo is eliminated on the spot. He hugs Kari while the others talk about how this was a low point for Romeo. Romeo leaves, saying he doesn’t have an anger problem but that he is disappointed in his actions. And it looks like all of security is escorting him out, doesn’t it?

That was it? I wanted lecturing Tyra, stone-faced yet angry Kelly and disappointed Ms. J all there. Oh well, but at least Romeo’s gone. And I feel this is a fitting end.

Onto runway! Ms. J says they will be getting a runway lesson, but not from him. He introduces a woman on stilts. Yu Tsai talks about past stilt usage on the show, including Allison’s shot in Cycle 17 and Chantal nearly taking down the Chinese acrobat in Cycle 9. Mirjana is worried because she’s scared of heights.

Ben used to walk on stilts as a child so he’s confident. Mirjana keeps falling. Denzel comforts her. Shei says this isn’t a dating show.

Will and Kari walk first. Ms. J is impressed by Will, calling him a model. Backstage, Raelia falls. Someone runs over and helps her up. Denzel holds her hand all the way down. Meanwhile, Lenox is still freaking out about the shoot. But paired with Matthew, she knocks it out. Adam is worried about being paired with Mirjana. He wobbles but Mirjana holds her own. Ms. J and Yu Tsai are impressed with her. Ben finishes by himself and the crowd loves him. So do the judges.

Afterwards, Yu Tsai and Ms. J say Raelia and Adam didn’t show strength on the runway. They were impressed by Mirjana, Will and Ben. And the challenge winner is Ben. He is ecstatic.

At home, they go to see their scores. Adam is worried about his six and Raelia is worried about hers. She even talks in the third person. Adam’s nervous face brings us to…

COMMERCIALS!

Tyra welcomes the models. She notes this is the first time they’ve had to send a model home due to their zero tolerance policy. She tells Adam she’s proud he took the high road. Anyway, there are judges: Ms. J and Kelly Cutrone. There are prizes! Time for judging!

Keith and Mirjana are first. Mirjana admits she’s dating Denzel and that he might have been a little jealous. Tyra says Mirjana worked the smirk and Kelly loves her eye contact. Mirjana: 8, 9, 8. Tyra says Keith felt like a victim which was a good thing. Keith: 8, 9, 8. Tyra tells Adam to relax as he approaches with Shei. Kelly says Shei should’ve owned it but Tyra disagrees. Shei: 7, 10, 6. Tyra loves Adam’s faces. She commends him for working it. She tells him to bring that in person. Social media doesn’t like him. Adam: 7, 8, 6.

Denzel and Kari are next. Tyra asks Denzel about watching Mirjana with Keith. He admits it was like a kick in the gut. Kelly didn’t like Kari and calls her a crazy dominatrix. But Tyra disagrees. Kari: 7, 8, 7. Tyra loves Denzel but his foot was weird. Kelly laughs as she agrees. Tyra tells everyone to look at Denzel’s face because he rocks it. Denzel: 8, 8, 7. Ben and Raelia are next. Tyra congrats Ben on his challenge win. Tyra calls Raelia amazing and Kelly thinks she owned every frame. Ms. J wanted more. Raelia: 7, 10, 10. Tyra thinks Ben was dazed by Raelia. Tyra says he booched too hard. Ben: 7, 5, 8.

Matthew and Will are next. They say it was awesome to be in the commercial together. Tyra wanted more smirk but she loved his eyebrow. Kelly says they were a great team. Ms. J agrees. Will: 9, 9, 8. Tyra says Matthew was making a weird face. Matthew: 9, 6, 9. Lenox is alone because of Romeo’s disqualification. Ms. J says she struggled and didn’t seem there. Kelly says it’s not sexy. Tyra says she’s super disappointed because she didn’t think Lenox tried. And she says giving up is not attractive. She compares her to Adam, who didn’t do well but still tries. Lenox: 7, 1, 7. Tyra wanted to give her a zero but that doesn’t exist. Kelly curses in response and Mirjana looks like she got the 1.

Tyra dismisses the models as we go to…

COMMERCIALS!

ELIMINATION! First photo goes to…Will. He’s joined by: Raelia, Keith, Mirjana, Matthew, Shei, Denzel, Kari, and Ben. That leaves Adam and Lenox in the bottom two. They step before Tyra. Adam: Commercial wasn’t bad, but everything else was low. Lenox: Wonderful girl who gave up. Who stays? Adam. Wait, really?

Adam goes to join the others. Lenox says she learned to take things more serious. Not to give up. Tyra says that Romeo is gone. So she’s going to let Lenox stay but she’s still not getting a photograph. And to remember she’s only there because Romeo broke the rules. Lenox will only get five frames while the others will get more. Lenox understands.

That was crazy! I never thought I’d actually see someone break the no violence rule and get eliminated. And I never thought it’d be Romeo. I thought we’d have to deal with him until he did himself in. He did do himself in.

I hope Lenox brings it next week because I think she has the most potential of all the girls. I’m rooting for her!

Next week: Lenox has five frames! Flirting! Nick Cannon!

Quote of the Episode
“I’ve got to stay humble but I got to stay hungry.”—Ben after winning the challenge.
