I’m not liveblogging the casting episodes because…well…you all know how I feel about casting episodes. So regular recaps will resume next week with the first proper episode.
But here are my thoughts!
I don’t see how the boys will bring something new to the program except increased hormones. Each fills an archetype we’ve seen on the show before: the overconfident one, the poor one, the socially awkward one, etc. But there was some flirting already. We need to keep our eye on Jourdan and Jeremy. I smell reality show love!
The masquerade theme runway was actually pretty cool. Some of the models were comfortable, others were not. I liked how Cory, I believe, turned the tables and walked with another male model rather than a girl. And the last two models standing were troopers as they were both girls.
I really, really liked Virgg. Her story about being inspired by Isis didn’t seem like a reality show gimmick but genuine. And I thought she had a great look as well as a great personality. But I understand why she chose to leave—normal hormones can be a pain in the neck. I can’t imagine getting everything in such high doses. I wish her luck and do hope to see her on a future cycle—should the show make it.
So right now, my early favorites are thus:
On the GIRLS side: Alexandra, Nina, Jourdan and Kanani
On the BOYS side: Phil, Jeremy, Mike and Cory
Next week: The models have to walk a runway for Guess which is down the side of a building. Someone may get hurt!
