Wanna be on top?
LA! The girls go to see AzMarie’s best photo and the US girls get to open their box. AzMarie is proud of herself and Sophie decides that she’s taking on AzMarie. Eboni is still pissed that Kyle decided not to leave and Kyle doesn’t care. Laura thinks this is all nothing compared to the fact she lost a friend in a motorcycle accident before entering the contest.
Annaliese finds a Virgin phone and says they have a message. It’s from Mr. Jay, inviting them to Toronto for its fashion week. To walk in shows, meet people in the industry, etc. There is much squealing. Alisha thinks she’s going to be in her element while the Americans won’t last.
CREDITS!
TORONTO! The girls meet Mr. Jay at the CN Tower. Some people look nervous and Mr. Jay says they aren’t doing a shoot up there. But they are going on go-sees, castings for runway shows. Winner is whoever gets the most bookings and will get pieces from Mr. Jay’s line as well as get to come back to Canada for something else. Sophie is nervous as she had the worst walk on Britain’s Next Top Model.
Sophie though impresses the first person they go to see. Ashley is called “hippy” and Catherine is told to practice as well. Laura, Kyle and Sophie book this show. Sophie talks about her gawky teenage years. Seymone complains and Annaliese is sick of her attitude.
The girls go to the next go-see which has six designers present. AzMarie, Annaliese, Alisha, Sophie and Eboni are asked to stay behind to get some bookings. Eboni pulls ahead with 4 bookings. Seymone, Ashley and Catherine don’t have any bookings yet. But they still have to go Mr. Jay’s line. Alisha really wants to walk in Mr. Jay’s show. Laura, Kyle, AzMarie and Sophie book Mr. Jay’s line. Catherine talks about faking happiness. Her line about it was better on her cycle of Britain’s Next Top Model.
Now the girls that have bookings have to ace their runways to win the challenge. The Brits talk about Seymone in the bus. They think it’s her personality turning people off.
The girls head to fashion week. They start to rehearse and Kim cuts Laura and Kyle before the show. Laura worries about getting bad feedback and going home as we go to…

We come back to Toronto Fashion Week. Mr. Jay gives the girl a pep talk and Seymone is in a mood. Mr. Jay goes to talk to her and he tells her to stop sulking pretty much. We see the girls walk in their runway shows. And it’s mayhem back stage as they go from designer to designer. We then see Mr. Jay’s line. It’s actually pretty good.
The girls go to their hotel and Sophie is impressed with their penthouse. Catherine tells AzMarie that she did amazing in the catwalk. AzMarie tells us she came out at 14 and had troubles with her mom.

Sophie and Ashley talk and we get to see pictures of Ashley’s kids, who are adorable. She doesn’t want to go home as we go to…

The next morning, Mr. Jay meets the girls. Eboni and Sophie both won because they booked the most shows. They win clothing pieces and a trip to the Calgary Stampede. They are in historic downtown Toronto, the Distillery District. The girls hit hair and makeup. Miguel Jacob is their photographer and their shot will have them covered in leaves and maple syrup. Sophie is up first. Laura thinks Sophie is in the top three with AzMarie and Kyle. Mr. Jay loves Sophie. Alisha follows Sophie as Mr. Jay talks to Catherine about her confidence. She says she still has it and knows she has to bring it. Mr. Jay loves her shots.
Laura breaks down backstage as she finally mourns her friend. The other girls come over and comfort her, especially the Brits. Laura gets a touch up and goes out to shoot. Annaliese follows her and then Ashley. The photographer loves Ashley. Mr. Jay talks to Ashley about her kids. She says her mother told her kids that the longer Ashley is away, the more she’s winning. So they’re excited. Kyle and AzMarie go next and Ashley wants to be AzMarie. Seymone follows and Miguel and Jay love her. Eboni is last as Sophie talks about how Eboni ignores Tyra’s advice.
That’s a wrap! Time to go back to LA!
Catherine is worried about panel. Annaliese thinks Catherine, Ashley and Seymone are in trouble for not booking anything.

LA! The girls go to panel. There are judges: Nigel and Kelly. The guest judge is Beverly Johnson, the first black model on the cover of Vogue Magazine. There are prizes. They start with the UK girls. Alisha is up first. Kelly thinks that there is a supermodel in Alisha but she hasn’t let her out. Nigel tells her to use her angles. Sophie is praised for booking 4 shows. Nigel loves her face. Beverly loves that it’s high fashion while Tyra wants more. Catherine is next. She talks about her difficulty booking shows. Nigel loves her shot and calls it sincerity. Kelly tells her to remain in the competition. Tyra calls it “stunning.” Ashley is next and talks about having a hippy walk. Nigel tells her to remove the fear. Kelly says she loves her personality but doesn’t like the photo. Beverly loves her face and eyes. Annaliese is last for the Brits. Nigel loves her pose and Tyra loves her bone structure.
The Americans are next. Laura is first. They talked about getting unbooked before looking at the photo. Nigel and Kelly loves her face and Laura explains about her friend dying. Tyra likes the vulnerability. Kyle is next. Beverly loves her shot. Kelly calls her a model. AzMarie is next. She is called “hot” repeatedly. Seymone follows and they don’t mention her not getting booked. They go straight to her shot. The judges love her shot. Eboni is praised for booking 4 shows. Tyra hopes her shot is not too sexy. The judges love her shot as well.

The judges deliberate. Kelly likes Sophie’s shot. Nigel calls it a “B” and to be a Top Model she needs to be an “A” and Tyra adds “Plus!” Nigel loves Catherine’s shot but she was a mess at panel. Ashley needs to model more. Tyra thinks Annaliese is the proof that personality helps. Beverly loves Kyle but Nigel isn’t too thrilled. Tyra teases Nigel. He gets passionate about AzMarie’s shot. Tyra thinks she’s getting cocky. Kelly calls Eboni “exotic” and Nigel calls her “bookable.” Nigel likes Laura’s yin and yang.

ELIMINATION! The first name with best photo is Eboni. She is joined by AzMarie, Sophie, Seymone, Laura, Kyle—all Americans are safe—Alisha, and Annaliese. Catherine and Ashley are our bottom two. I’m resigned to one of my favorites going home. Neither booked a fashion show. So who stays? Catherine, due to her strong photo. Not Ashley! Now it’s just Sophie to provide funny commentary. Tyra tells Catherine to hold on to her confidence.
After getting a kiss from Catherine, Ashley gets a hug from Tyra. She tells her to be a presenter. And that her kids are lucky. The girls support Tyra’s advice and hug Ashley.
Ashley is happy that Tyra loves her personality. She’s made it far and now gets to go see her kids. Aww.

I’m sad that Ashley went home. She was one half of Team Awesome. Now Sophie has to represent them both. It’s been clear since the beginning that Tyra wanted a Brit-elimination, American-elimination, and so on until only a Brit and an American remain. But it wasn’t to the level of ridiculousness that it reached at panel this week. Both Catherine and Ashley were called out for not booking a single show but Seymone gets nary a peep? Shenanigans, I tell you!
