The others are as shocked as me that Frank managed to remain in the competition. They fear being paired with him. Meanwhile, Meagan flirts with Conor, saying she feels they click. It’s kinda cute to watch.
DESERT! Gage recognizes it as being from Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey and Star Trek, which actually I recognized it from too. My mother’s Trekkie-dom has rubbed up. McKenzie meets them and mentions the Star Trek franchise. She introduces her father…Alaistar Crane is here? Oh wait, sorry, I just turn from “One Life to Live.” It’s Mike Westmore. Today, the contestants will be ALIENS! Woo-hoo! I may not be a Trekkie, but I am a fan of Doctor Who. And if I can’t see the Doctor fighting it, you’re doomed in my book.
Team 1: Frank and Anthony (You can see Anthony’s face fall)
Team 2: Conor and Jo
Team 3: Meagan and Tom
Team 4: Marcel and Gage
Team 5: Tate and Sam
They head back to the studio to get information on the planet Gliese 581 G. It’s a real planet discovered by NASA. The contestants use the information known about Gliese 581 G to create a realistic alien resident of this planet. Sam and Tate decide to have a water mammal. Meagan and Tom creates one from the cold side of the planet and has claws. They decide to use latex. Conor and Jo go feminine, intelligent and Jo hopes that Conor will allow her to contribute it more. Gage and Marcel mixes Sam and Tate’s water mammal with Tom and Meagan’s dark side dwelling creature. Frank wants to go quick, Anthony doesn’t want to. Frank wants to go retro, Anthony wants to go big.
Commercials!
Tom says that this is a big challenge and a lot needs to be done. Everyone begins to sculpt so they can focus on molds the next day. Sam and Tate work with wet clay while Anthony wins over Frank. But he still wants to kill Frank, who keeps getting coffee and walking around. Everyone else is waiting for the first punch to be thrown. And Tom is worried it may be between Meagan and Jo, as the former is focused on Conor’s partner. Tom is worried when he sees Meagan resculpting, but she says it was lopsided.
The day ends and the sun rises on Meagan’s birthday. They gave her a cake, which doesn’t sit well with Jo and Frank. Conor, though, gives her a cupcake on her own. She giggles but Jo doesn’t think Meagan is genuine.
Everyone returns to the studio. McKenzie and Patrick show up for a check up. Frank says Patrick makes them think they are on the wrong path and Meagan seconds this, saying everyone is now second-guessing their decisions. McKenzie and Patrick talk about Anthony and Frank, about how they aren’t working together. Patrick talks about some of their choices and says what they’ll have to do to make it work.
Today, everyone is making molds to make prosthetics. Meagan is worried that Tom brought the not-yet-dry molds outside. Some of it cracks and Tom thinks they can make it part of the alien’s texture. Meagan freaks out. Jo asks Conor what she’s doing and then flips out.
Commercials.
We come back to Jo and Conor’s dilemma. Jo wants to paint and Conor thinks she should, because he knows she has an eye for it. And so the dilemma frizzles out. Meagan is worried about time and Tom realizes she isn’t a problem solver. He decides to use gelatin and tells her not to panic. She thinks its all awful. Meanwhile, Frank is not talking to Anthony. He just completely ignores Anthony.
Jo notes that Meagan keeps watching her and Conor. Meagan insists she isn’t jealous, but you can tell she is. Gage is works on the quills for his and Marcel’s alien. The quills look good. Tom tells Frank that he feels he’s doing everything and Meagan isn’t. Sam is worried that hers and Tate’s mold isn’t ready yet.
Coming Up: The judges are unleashed!
We come back to Sam and Tate being told they have ten minutes to clean out their mold. People come running over to help, which is a great show of teamwork.
It’s now Day 3. Gage says that today they have to paint as the models arrive. Tom and Meagan work on getting their model ready while Frank curses Anthony out. So Anthony curses him out. Conor is worried they may not be done in time, while the clock counts down. It reaches zero and everyone heads over to the stage. They have one hour of touch ups. Conor keeps time and it’s time for Last Looks.
McKenzie introduces the judges: Glenn, Ve, Patrick and guest judge Michael Westmore. Time to bring in the aliens. Frank and Anthony are first. And it looks like a reject from “Avatar.” Conor and Jo come next…And I can see this woman alien either arguing with the Doctor or imploring her help. Sam and Tate’s looks scary. Gage and Marcel…I’m not sure about the front. I can see the basics of a Doctor Who villain, but the BBC crew would improve it. Meagan isn’t impressed with her work and I’m not sure either. The judges take a closer look while the contestants panic.
McKenzie tells Sam and Tate that they are safe. They head back to the room as their model unfortunately doesn’t crabwalk out. Conor and Jo are the first up. Glenn asks the two what the hell they were thinking to do that quality in such a short time…because it worked. He likes it and Michael likes the details. Patrick asks for a breakdown. Ve loves that Jo gave their alien fingernails. Frank and Anthony are next. Ve says she’s very disappointed. She says Anthony’s back piece should’ve been the face while she calls out the latex suit. Michael says everything reads in the face is too human. Frank decides to throw him under the bus. So Anthony drags him down, which Glenn notes. Marcel and Gage are next. Patrick likes it as does Michael. Glenn likes the albino aspect. Last is Meagan and Tom. Tom says there was poor collaboration. They argue on the stand. Michael tells them they have to work together while Ve says they had their heads up their asses. They were too busy being pissed off to work.
Top: Conor and Jo, Gage and Marcel. The winning team is Conor and Jo. The winner is Conor. Everyone congratulates him and he hugs Jo one more time. Everyone is sent to makeup room except Conor, who gets to consult the judges. Conor chooses Tom for his work and throwing Meagan under the bus. The judges think Tom and Meagan had potential but they failed. Michael felt Frank and Anthony didn’t follow instructions. Glenn feels Frank steamrolled over Anthony but Anthony gave up.
Frank, Anthony, Meagan and Tom stand before the judges as we go to commercials.
Coming back, Glenn tells Tom and Meagan spent more time arguing than creating. Frank and Anthony’s uneven relationship resulted in a disaster. The person going home is Frank. His response is not the expected. He fist pumps and says, “Yes.” He tells them that he’s been on the crazy train. Michael and Ve tell him he needs to take stock of his personality, learning to work with others or get out of the business.
He exits and announces he’s leaving and the others are floored by his reaction. He says he will have to learn to work with others and needs to tone down his personality.

So, Frank’s gone. Can’t say I’m surprised. I never did much like him and he seemed content on taking the easy way rather than the creative way. I did enjoy some of the aliens they created and it was nice to see McKenzie’s father. And I’m kinda liking the little romance going on between Meagan and Conor. Your thoughts?
Next week: Villains!
