Find out!
We pick up where we left off. So who is going home instead of to Las Vegas?
Justin.
Tyra tells Justin that he started to lose his swagger and next to the other strong competitors, he began to fade away. Justin thanks her, says goodbye to Mame and tearfully tells the camera that he just hopes his parents are proud of him. Oh, and he wants to continue his relationship with Mame.
America’s Next Top Model:
Dustin*
Hadassah
Mame
Mikey
Nyle
Tyra welcomes Dustin back and asks the models if they’re ready to go to Las Vegas. Hell yes they are! Even though Hadassah is not thrilled that Dustin’s back in and feels he hasn’t earned his spot in the competition.
At the house, everyone admires Nyle’s picture as Nyle tells us more about himself. His parents were divorced when he was younger and his father hasn’t been around that much. But Nyle’s mom has been amazing and he loves her. All together now:
Everyone packs for Vegas and most people are not happy about Dustin being back. Mame finds a letter from Justin and breaks down in confessional. Okay, group hug Mame! She talks about not feeling loved as a child but she vows to power on and go to Vegas!
The models gather their bags and head out to the Model Mobile, ready to go to Vegas!
Wanna be on top?
Vegas! The Model Mobile takes the contestants to their new hotel. Dustin wants to see everything and the models just take selfies while shilling for their phone.
The SLS has a sign welcoming them as they pull up. The models run through the hotel and check out their new penthouse. It’s a lot of screaming, running and squealing. They discover boxes filled with goodies just for them and Dustin reads the note attached. He says they’re going to a party!
At the party, Yu Tsai and Miss J are dancing with Don from Cycle 20. Damn, he still looks good. Don’s song is playing and he brags a little, just to show the models what could be waiting for them after the show. But first they have to make a splash! Yu Tsai says they will be jumping into the pool, posing in midair, while Massimo takes their pictures. The challenge winner will get pampered at SLS’ spa.
Mikey jumps in, portraying a gambler. Mame is next, carrying a big bag as a chic shopper. She looks fierce in her shot, if I do say so. Dustin gets to be a party host and Miss J warns him that he can leave the competition as quickly as he came back. So Dustin decides to rely on his profile but his picture is full on. I’m not entirely sure what Devin is but his involves a mirror. Lacey is a sunbather? I don’t know but they love her body pose but Don points out that she blocked her face. Nyle is a bartender and decides to jump high to get more time to hit his pose but Don thinks it backfired on him. Hadassah goes last as a shopaholic. When she jumps, her dress flies up and covers her face but Massimo managed to get one shot.
The models get back in the pool and Don reveals the top three were Mame, Hadassah and Dustin. And the challenge winner is…
Going to be revealed after COMMERCIALS!
Anyway, the winner is Mame and she says she won for Justin. Everyone chills in the pool as Don leaves with Miss J and Yu Tsai.
Up in the penthouse, they look at their scores. Lacey is not pleased with her 8 and Nyle is alarmed by his 7, which ties him with Devin. He wants to be one of the last two standing and is determined to do better. Hadassah says that if Dustin didn’t have a comeback, her name would be under Mame’s. But Dustin does have a 9 while she has an 8. Dustin picks up on Hadassah’s dislike for him.
Devin talks with Mikey but the latter is not receptive. Devin says he’s noticed that Mikey has been pulling away lately. He realizes he can’t trust Mikey as much and Mikey says he has to focus on himself, not Devin’s drama. Mikey doesn’t like to deal with people when they start to need support, does he?
The next day, Tyra tells them about her cosmetic line called Tyra Beauty. She talks about wanting to empower people with beauty, yada yada ya. It’s like Mary Kay in that people can sell the cosmetics. And these people are called Beautytainers. We see the commercials shot for the line last cycle. This time, Tyra says they will be performing in a music video for the product’s theme song, “Bootyful” by Stori. Everyone is excited. And she’s going to play a part!
Everyone hits hair and makeup, learning the song. Mikey asks Nyle why he’s wearing headphones and Nyle says he can pick up the beat, so he’s going to still learn the song and do his best to make sure he brings his A-game. Dustin starts flirting with the extras. Hadassah complains about this and Devin compares having Dustin back with living with a small child.
Tyra pops in to test their knowledge of the song and a little singalong happens. She then starts doing their makeup. Mame is over the moon to be working with Tyra and it’s so sweet.
Time for the music video! Here are the roles:
Mame: Beautytainer
Dustin: Party host
Nyle: Bartender
Hadassah: The customer
Mikey: The hot man
Devin: Makeup artist
Lacey: Shy and insecure girl who blossoms into a confident woman throughout the video
Lacey says she was that shy girl and is an introvert, so the role was natural to her. Tyra seems impressed with her performance. Nyle, Hadassah and Mame also nail their shots. Dustin worries about acting and struggles with the lip syncing. Hadassah relishes his struggle as Yu Tsai says it isn’t working.

Nyle films a part and manages to outperform Dustin. It seems easy, though, at this point. Devin then kills his performance, which makes Mikey want to step up his game. Which he does, impressing Yu Tsai. Mame thinks Hadassah may go home if she doesn’t step up her performance and then Mame absolutely kills it.
That’s a wrap!
On Day 1, at least.
Day 2 and Dustin is still flirting with everyone. Hadassah asks him why he’s doing it and he says he’s just being social. She asks him what coming back has taught him and he replies not to stress about the competition. Dustin just thinks Hadassah is jealous because he scored better than her on the challenge.
COMMERCIALS!
Everyone puts on these huge pieces and head to a club where Tyra and Miss J meet them. It represents a Tyra Beauty convention. Of course. Hadassah and Mikey try to figure out how to kiss without her getting impaled on Mikey’s fashion piece.
Mikey, Hadassah and Devin rock out and Hadassah keeps saying “Don’t hit me with your things.” As Yu Tsai tells them to go bigger, she whines more about it and he tells her to push them out of the way. He tells her to fight for it and not be a lady.
Hadassah and Mikey then film the kiss and Mikey thinks she liked it. I want to take his ego down a bit. Oh, hey, Don’s there. He and Mikey talk for a bit as people joke that Hadassah’s in love.
Dustin steps up his game this day and Yu Tsai says he owns the camera. Nyle rocks his shoot and Tyra directs him in a way so that he can follow the beat. Tyra leads a runway shoot and Mame says the pressure is on to perform.
That’s a wrap!
Skull mail! Someone’s going home. Devin says he doesn’t want to end up in the bottom two while Mikey jokes about Hadassah going home. He confesses that someone has to go and he’s good as long as it isn’t him. Hadassah says they’ll see tomorrow and they glare at each other as we go to…
COMMERCIALS!
Panel is held at the club. There are judges—Miss J and Kelly Cutrone. There are prizes. Tyra explains they’ll watch their best cuts at panel and then debut the video afterwards. Mame is first and Tyra congratulates her for winning the challenge. Miss J thinks her runway could’ve been fiercer and Tyra says she needed to bring the fire she had in the hallway to the runway. Kelly says she needs to let go and Mame says she thought she did. Tyra says there’s a difference between feeling it on the inside and feeling it on the outside.
Mikey is next and Tyra loves it. Kelly says she’d buy anything he was selling and says he looked like a rock star. Devin is next and they ask why he has so much makeup on. He says it’s because he was the makeup artist in the video. Miss J says it was fierce. Kelly says it’s proof that there’s a place for all God’s creatures and Devin asks for clarification if that means she liked it. She likes it. Tyra says he owned the hallway. Tyra praises Lacey’s acting but thought she she had one of the weakest walks. Kelly says the clothing overwhelmed her and while her acting was stellar, her modeling was meh.
Miss J compares Hadassah’s performance in the hallway to losing her balance on the train. Tyra says she did try to make it work. Miss J says she was too ladylike and needs to get a little dirty. Tyra says she knows how to let go, judging by her kiss with Mikey. Dustin is next. Miss J thinks the start was weak and Tyra says she felt he was doubting himself but had great moments in the spinning ball. She tells him to harness his potential. Nyle is last. Kelly loves his signing and thinks it adds more to the campaign. Tyra praises him for his energy and not missing a beat.
Tyra dismisses the models so they can add up their scores.
COMMERCIALS!
ELIMINATION! Best photo goes to…Mikey (8.1, 10, 9.4)! He is joined by: Devin (8.7, 9.7, 9.2), Lacey (8.4, 8.9, 9), Mame (7.9, 8.3, 7.8), and Nyle (8.5, 9.1, 9.1). That leaves Dustin and Hadassah in the bottom two. Dustin: Has talent but it’s hiding. Hadassah: Takes nice pictures but is too pent up. Might be better for beauty pageants than modeling. So who stays? Hadassah.
Damn. So close.
Tyra asks Dustin why he floundered and he replies that he’s not sure. She tells him to learn to take directions and gives him a hug. Dustin says he won’t miss the drama but is sad he lost his opportunity.
America’s Next Top Model:
Mame
Mikey
Nyle
*Contestant came back
Tyra then debuts the video. It’s…alright. It’s a music video shilling beauty products.
So poor Dustin didn’t last one week. I think his photo last week was just a fluke. But once he matures and gains more experience, he’ll be ready to take on the modeling industry. As for Hadassah..I’m ready for her to go home now. Because I’m predicting a final 3 of Nyle, Lacey and Mame with it being anyone’s game. Sorry Mikey and Devin.
Next week: Mikey gets horny! Devin might break up with Mikey!
Quote of the Episode
“I’ve never been in such a beautiful hotel and I’ve been in a lot of beautiful hotels.”—Hadassah
By now most of you have probably heard the sad news: Top Model has been cancelled. This will be our last cycle. I will recap it until the end. Thank you to those who will stick it out with me.
