Face Off!
LA! At the house, Cig and George brush their beards while everyone eats breakfast. Damien feels he has to redeem himself and Stella gives him a pep talk.
The contestants go to the Wildlife Learning Center. Everyone’s pumped for animals! McKenzie greets them and talks about the center. She then leads them to her surprise. They devolve into little children around the animals. McKenzie introduces them to a biologist named Danielle Burns, who continues to explain the center’s purpose. McKenzie says the animals will be the basis for their challenge. Danielle introduces them to a squirrel monkey, armadillo, porcupine, eurasian lynx, red fox, coatimundi, and tawny owl. The owl nearly beats down Sasha with its wings.
McKenzie talks about movies where animals have been combined to great a fantastical new species. So the contestants have to mash two of the species in the center and create a new hybrid. Sasha goes to the bobcat and owl. Our bearded buddies George and Cig both pick armadillo and alligators. They strategize together to make sure they create different creatures. Sasha says her hybrid could become a furby but she resists.
Jason chose a hawk and a fox. Should be interesting. He’s worried about wings and fur. Rachael is using a fox and coatimundi while Kealaghn is combing the lynx and kinkajou. Damien is combining an owl and a coatimundi and is worried about the wings like Jason.
Everyone heads to the lab to begin their sculpting. Stella is combining the kinkajou and the wildcat. She works on her sculpting, especially the cat nose. Everyone works on their sculpting and our Bearded Buddies work by each other. George even sings along as he works. Dina is combining a prairie dog and a red fox. She’s worried about creating a fur suit.
McKenzie and her dad stop by to check on them. Doc is combining the squirrel monkey and eagle. Michael is impressed so far. Drew is combining the squirrel monkey and and red fox. Michael gives him some tips for combining the two. He cautions Rachael about being too fox-heavy and George that it might look more like a prop than a makeup. But he thinks the risk might work in his favor. Stella talks about her problems and he counsels her. They wish everyone luck before leaving.
Stella tries to work on her sculpt but doesn’t like how it looks. She admits she feels lost.
Coming Up: Frustration all around!
So, Stella still feels lost and hates her sculpture. But she knows she won’t get anything else done if she keeps focusing on the face.
Across the lab, Cig is digging his sculpture and starts molding. Keaghlan uses plastic bubbles to help create her eyes. Doc is also working on molding but he’s worried he won’t have enough time. The minutes countdown and he decides not to open at TIME! Doc is worried he’ll be behind though.
Day 2! Everyone returns to the lab to continue working. Stella decides to scrap her face sculpture. She’s worried that she’s really behind as is Doc. He works on the cowl. Everyone is busy while Sasha worries about her feathers. Jason is impressed with her sculpt. Stella works on a sculpture she’s okay with. Cig is really having fun with this challenge.
Dina waited too long and only had the choice of white fun fur, so she’s having to paint it to get of the red fox color. It’s actually looking pretty good. Damien also starts working on his fur suit and using feathers as well. George uses L200 foam to help make his scales. He starts painting and then puts it on. He scurries about the lab and the other contestants assure him it’s good. You know, that’s one thing I love about this series—no one sabotages anyone else. They actually work together. It’s great.
Drew may have made an error and it could affect his mold. He asks for prayers as we go to…
COMMERCIALS!
Drew is still worried he’s ruined his chances as everyone keeps working hard. Keaghlan is working on fabrication since her molding is done. She creates the hand pieces and works on the eyes. Meanwhile, it’s Drew’s moment of truth—time to open the mold! It seems like disaster is averted for now. TIME! Doc is behind again. He’s worried.
Day 3! Cig is worried the foam piece is too heavy but he works on it. Meanwhile, the models arrive. Some hugs are exchanged, so I guess some contestants have favorite models. Doc is working on his other leg while applying his pieces to his model. George has to use another glue to apply his pieces as the model is allergic to another type of glue. Damien likes his model’s dancing background. Sasha is pleased with her work but is worried that she doesn’t have feet. She knows a small mistake can send her home.
Keaghlan is busy with the details as Cig calls the ten minute warning. People start running as Stella realizes her paint doesn’t match her costume. At TIME, she’s panicking.
Coming Up: Cig has problems! Stella has problems! Judges!
At last looks, everyone hurries to finish their creatures. George has to tape his face piece back on to his model while Keaghlan glues her fingers on. Stella’s out of brown paint. The music counts down to TIME!
McKenzie welcomes everyone to the reveal stage. There are judges: Glenn, Lois, and Neville. She reminds them of their challenge. Bring out the animals!
My favorites: Drew, Keaghlan, George, Sasha, Jason and Rachael.
The judges go to take a closer look. Neville likes Drew’s forms. Glenn’s not feeling Keaghlan’s eyes but likes Cig’s face sculpt. Lois loves Drew’s blending and Glenn likes the eyes. Glenn’s not thrilled with George but he and Lois are impressed with Sasha’s work. Neville’s not thrilled with Stella’s work. She knows she’s going to be in the bottom as we go to…
COMMERCIALS!
Glenn isn’t impressed with Doc’s work either and that ends the closer looks.
Sasha, Keaghlan, Damien, Doc, Stella, and Cig were either the best or the worst. The others are safe and can head backstage. So who is going before the judges first? It’s Sasha! She thinks it’s bad but Glenn tells her it only lacks her confidence. He tells her it’s a great makeup. Lois says that Sasha used her time wisely and she didn’t even notice the leggings. Neville praises her feather work.
Keaghlan is next. Lois says the paint doesn’t work and the coloring is flawed. Neville likes the facial forms but the lack of detail detracts for him. Glenn thinks it’s too cartoony and Keaghlan agrees. Damien is next. Neville says it works and the design is balanced. Damien confirms it was his first time he used fur and feathers. Glenn and Lois praise his work. Doc steps forward. Glenn says his idea was good but the concept was not good. Doc admits it wasn’t a great product and Glenn is impressed he did that. Lois and Neville agree it’s not his best work.
Stella’s next to stand before the judges. She admits upfront that she felt lost. Lois agrees it doesn’t work. She thinks Stella didn’t work to her strengths—colors and paint. Neville doesn’t like the face. Cig is last. Neville says he has some really beautiful forms. Glenn likes the choices Cig made. McKenzie dismisses them so the judges can deliberate.
Neville thinks Sasha nailed the challenge and Lois says she has to work on confidence. They were impressed it was Damien’s first time working with feathers. Lois thinks Doc had promise but made bad decision. They’ve made their decisions.
The six contestants come back out. The top looks belong to Sasha, Damien and Cig. Who wins this week?
Find out after the COMMERCIALS!
And the winner is…Damien! Congrats! Glenn praises his work and says his true talents were on display. Damien is so happy to have a win. McKenzie sends him backstage with Sasha and Cig.
That leaves Keaghlan, Doc and Stella in the bottom. Who is going home? Doc. I thought so. It wouldn’t be fair for Keaghlan and Stella to go. Glenn says it was good that Doc knew why it didn’t work but he’s still going. Keaghlan and Stella head backstage. Glenn tells Doc his own downfall is his lack of experience and not to give up.
Doc says he was glad he finally got on and he can say he was on FaceOff. After a hug, he leaves.

I think Sasha could take the whole contest if she doesn’t sabotage herself. And hopefully Stella bounces back next week. As for Damien, this could be his turning point. I can’t wait to see!
