And Marian is still a popsicle.
We open a long time ago in Arendelle. Auntie Ingrid buries the container with the hat in a cave before heading over to visit the Apprentice. She offers to give the Sorcerer his hat back as long as he does something for her—find her third sister. Someone with magic, like her and Elsa. The Apprentice says the Sorcerer doesn’t make deals but he will talk with him.

Emma has been camping out in her yellow bug. Henry approaches the car, calling for his mother. She tells him to stay away but he still tries to go to her. Her powers continue to go berserk, knocking Henry back. He tries to assure he’s fine—it’s just a scratch, really—but the sight of blood frightens her. She tells him to get away from him. So Henry does run off—with me yelling “GO HENRY! GO GET EMMA HELP!”

You know who is not distressed? Regina. Want to know why? Because she spent the night with Robin Hood. He wanders her vault in pants and a wifebeater, saying he enjoyed his sleep last night. Wink wink, nudge nudge. But Regina reminds him that it can’t happen again. She wonders what would’ve happened if she didn’t choose evil over going into the tavern that night.
Robin says she’s not the evil queen any more and can have a second chance. But Regina shows him the storybook and tells him that that disagrees. He points out that it’s only a record of their past, nothing more. Regina, though, says that whoever wrote it is still guiding her life and has determined she’s still a villain. So Robin offers to set him right. Regina tells him she doesn’t know who the writer is and she can’t find out. She keeps hitting a dead end. And no, Robin can’t help her.
She and Robin can’t do that again as well. He understand. But, he says, if they don’t leave, then it’s still the first time. He kisses her and Regina melts. Robin lifts her up and they fall off screen. Looks like they are going to make s’mores!

(Reunion!) |
Gold opens his shop for the day and discovers everything going nuts in his shop. He tells Emma that if she’s trying to hide, she’s doing a poor job of it. She tells him that she’s just trying to make sure she doesn’t hurt him. Emma asks him for a way to remove her magic. Gold says he knows a way and Emma says she’ll do it, even though he hasn’t told her what it is. But Emma says she hurt Henry and she can’t chance that. She’ll do anything to be normal. Gold gives her a place to meet him later that day.
(Do not trust this man. Come on, Emma. You know this!) |
(Busted!) |
Everyone is speechless. Hook wonders if Emma tried to call him on his “talking phone.” David corrects him that it’s just a “phone.” Hook says that’s stupid and says he must’ve left his in the car. He goes to get it…except it’s all a ruse to get out of the apartment. Hook calls Emma but gets her voicemail. He tells her to not trust Gold because he’s going to suck her into a hat. He knows because he’s helped Gold do it before. And he doesn’t want Emma to suffer that fate.
In Arendelle, Kristoff keeps guard as Anna and Elsa search the East Wing for the urn. It’s mostly covered in white sheets and Anna says she had been forbidden from coming in there. She opens a wardrobe and finds…Frozen!Hans. That’s…downright creepy.
(Seriously) |
Gold pays Ingrid a visit. He taunts her still, telling her that Emma is going to remove her magic. She is going to be normal and Ingrid is going to be short a sister. Ingrid vow to stop Emma but finds she can’t move. Gold has trapped her using pieces of the urn Elsa broke. He says it’ll keep her contained for some time—long enough for him to remove Emma’s powers. *Insert evil laugh here*
Hook bursts into Gold’s shop but it’s empty. Not sure where Belle is. He figures out where Gold is taking Emma and hurries off, determined to stop them.
Will hangs out in Granny’s with a cup of tea. He then proceeds to add a copious amount of alcohol to it. Robin then takes it from him. He says he needs Will’s help and pulls out the storybook. Robin tells Will that he needs to figure out who wrote the book in order to make Regina happy. Will says that he spent some time in Storybrooke and that the curse centered around the clock tower. He asks Robin if he knows what is under the clock tower. Robin doesn’t. Will points out it’s a library. Where they keep books. Maybe they should look there.
Regina hangs out with Henry, heals him and asks him why he’s in a sour mood. He reveals that he couldn’t help Emma. He hates being normal. Regina tells him that he is anything but ordinary. He is the truest believer after all. She apologizes for ever trying to make him think he needed to be normal. This seems to cheer him up.
(All together now: Aww) |
Emma drives through woods, heading to where she needs to meet Gold. As she does, she spots Ingrid in the middle of the road. Emma swerves to avoid hitting her and hits the guardrail instead. She gets out of the car and confront Ingrid. Ingrid tells her she can’t go see Gold, she can’t get rid of her magic. And it doesn’t have to do with her desire to make Emma her new sister. Ingrid knows—like Hook—what Gold is planning to do. She doesn’t want Emma to get hurt. But Emma realizes that Ingrid isn’t really there. Since Ingrid is trapped, she’s using her mirror to great a spectral projection to talk to Emma. Emma walks though the image, gets back in her car and drives away.

(Look at that face!) |
In Arendelle, Elsa sneaks her sister back into her dungeon cell. Elsa goes over the plan with Anna: Elsa will tell Auntie Ingrid to deal with her traitorous sister. When Auntie Ingrid comes down, Anna will trap her in the urn. Anna practices how to say “Surprise” for when Auntie Ingrid pops up. But once Elsa leaves, Auntie Ingrid surprises Anna. She asks Anna if she’s ever heard of an old folktale about a king and his mirror. Anna has—the king had a beautiful daughter and he had a mirror made so she could see the beauty he saw in her. But she died before he could give her the mirror. It then just reflected the ugliness of his grief. Auntie Ingrid reveals she has one such mirror in her room, collecting the pain of her childhood. She doesn’t have enough to use it on the kingdom, but she can use it on her niece. With that, she casts the spell of Shattered Sight on Anna, sending a shard of glass into Anna’s eye.
(You have to admit that's cool) |
Stay tuned for Part II!
