Tony Nominations 2026

The Tony Awards are upon us!

I am so excited for this year's show. I can't wait to see P!nk host. I think she's going to be amazing and I can't believe I never thought about her hosting before.

Anyway, before we get to the show, I would like to make some predictions. Have I seen the shows nominated? No. Have I seen reviews and videos about them? Yes. Does that qualify me to make predictions?

Well, since it's my blog, I say yes.

You can check out my predictions under the cut. I will only be focusing on musicals and not straight plays.

BEST MUSICAL

The Lost Boys

Schmigadoon!

Titanique

Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)

My predicted winner: Schmigadoon!

I debated my choice for this because I've heard good things about all these productions. But I feel like Schmigadoon! is getting a little more love than the other three and has the potential to take the top award come Tony night.

BEST REVIVAL OF A MUSICAL

Cats: The Jellicle Ball

Ragtime

Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show

My predicted winner: Ragtime

While I've heard great things about Cats: The Jellicle Ball and its been rightly acclaimed in multiple ways, I really do think this is Ragtime's award to lose.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A LEADING ACTOR IN A MUSICAL

Nicholas Christopher (Anatoly Sergievsky, Chess)

Luke Evans (Frank-N-Further, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show)

Joshua Henry (Coalhouse Walker Jr., Ragtime)

Sam Tutty (Dougal Todd, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York))

Brandon Uranowitz (Tateh, Ragtime

My predicted winner: Joshua Henry

Everyone nominated is talented in his own right but I really think that like Best Revival is Ragtime's to lose, I believe this cateogry is Joshua Henry's to lose. His Coalhouse Walker Jr. keeps getting raves and watching him perform is mesmerizing. If you need to be convinced, just go listen to him sing "Make Them Hear You."

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A LEADING ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL

Sara Chase (Melissa Gimble, Schmigadoon!)

Stephanie Hsu (Janet Weiss, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show)

Caissie Levy (Mother, Ragtime)

Marla Mindelle (Celine Dion, Titanique)

Christiani Pitts (Robin Rainey, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York))

My predicted winner: Caissie Levy

I debated between Levy and Chase but I really think that the award is going to Levy for her portrayal of Mother in Ragtime

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A FEATURED ACTOR IN A MUSICAL

Ali Louis Bourzgui (David, The Lost Boys)

Andre De Shields (Old Deuteronomy, Cats: The Jellicle Ball)

Bryce Pinkham (The Arbiter, Chess)

Ben Levi Ross (Mother's Younger Brother, Ragtime)

Layton Williams (Iceberg/The Seaman, Titanique)

My predicted winner: Andre De Shields

I've heard great things about everyone nominated. A few names jumped out at me at first but it then came down to De Shields and Williams, who have both won other awards for the roles they are now playing on Broadway. However, I think De Shields' performance and how respected he is will push him to the top as well as voters wanting to give some love to Cats: The Jellicle Ball

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A FEATURED ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL

Shoshana Bean (Lucy Emerson, The Lost Boys)

Hannah Cruz (Svetlana, Chess)

Rachel Dratch (The Narrator, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show)

Ana Gasteyer (Mildred Layton, Schmigadoon!)

Nichelle Lewis (Sarah, Ragtime)

My predicted winner: Shoshana Bean

I think this might be Bean's year to win it. She's a beloved figure in a well-received show so I think Tony voters are going to give her the award. But I also wouldn't be surprised if Gasteyer walked away with it as well. As for me, I'm going to be rooting for Cruz - mostly because I loved her as Inez in Suffs and want the world for her.

Since I haven't seen the shows, I'm not going to go any further than this. I'm looking forward to seeing who wins tonight. I'll come back later this week to show you all how I did!

Happy Tonys!
